Mr. Vester C. Swafford

Mr. Vester C. Swafford age 89 of Dallas, Georgia passed away on September 27, 2009 at Wellstar Paulding Hospital.

 

 

Mr. Swafford was born in Pickens County on January 18, 1920 the son of the late Robert S. Swafford and Octavia Stone Swafford. He was a member of the Celebration Church of God. Mr. Swafford was retired from Kennesaw State University.

 

 

Survivors include his loving wife of 70 years Mary Lou Swafford of Dallas, Ga.; son and daughter in law, Mr. & Mrs. Ralph (Cynthia) Swafford of Centre, Al.; daughter and son in law, Mr. & Mrs. Lindsey (Linda) Ledford of Rockmart, Ga., two sisters, Mr. & Mrs. Dan (Lily) Ard of Peachtree City, Ga., and Mrs. Mandy Townsend of Jasper, Ga. twelve grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. & Mrs. Robert S. (Octavia) Swafford; brother, Little Thomas Swafford; sister, Little Betty Swafford; brothers, Bill Swafford, Leman Swafford, Onis Swafford; and sister, Mary Ruth Swafford.

 

 

Funeral services for Mr. Vester C. Swafford will be held on Wednesday September 30, 2009 at 11 AM in the Chapel of Jeff Eberhart Funeral Home with Reverend Max Burgess, Reverend Keith Graham, Reverend J. L. Stanley, Reverend Shane Swafford and Reverend Jeff Morrow officiating. Special music will be provided by Aaron Battles and Jeff Eberhart. Pall bearers will include Aaron Battles, Danny Moore, Ralph Swafford, Jr., Lindsey Ledford, Aaron Pettett, and Ronnie Payne. Honorary bearers will be Sam Swafford and Seth Swafford. 1 Interment will follow at Peaceful Meadows Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5 PM until 9 PM and on Wednesday from 9 AM until the funeral begins at 11 AM.
