Russell Hunter, age 72, of Hiram, passed away on Saturday, September 5, 2009. He was born on May 5, 1937, in Cobb County, to the late Arthur and Ellen Hunter. He was a veteran of the United States Army, retired owner of Hunter Tires, Camper and Auto Sales, and a member of Revival Baptist Church.

 

Survivors include, wife of 49 years, Martha Hunter of Hiram; son and daughter-in-law, Mark & Cindy Hunter of Hiram; daughter and son-in-law, Mandy & Bill DeLoach of Pensacola, Florida; brothers and sister-in-law, Edward & Martha Hunter of Powder Springs, and Donald Hunter of Kennesaw; grandchildren, Elizabeth Rolader, Brittany Black, Miranda DeLoach, Michelle Hunter, Meghan Cross, and Kelli Cross; great-grandchild, Eddie Johnson.

 

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 8, 2009, at 2 p.m., from Revival Baptist Church, with Reverend Art Brady, Gary Williams, and Brother Bobby Hunter officiating. Interment will follow in Powder Springs Cemetery. John McDowell, Phil Morris, Mike Hawkins, Bart Phillips, David Meadows, Gary Holley, and Calvin Crutchfield are serving as pallbearers. James Wright will be serving as honorable pallbearer. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, September 7, 2009, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m.
