Funeral Director Posted July 18, 2009 Report Share Posted July 18, 2009 Mr. Richard Jewell Hopkins, Age 67 f Rockmart passed away Saturday July 18, 2009 at Redmond Regional Hospital in Rome. Mr. Hopkins was born on October 29, 1941 in Cobb County Georgia to the late Nettie Mae Cochran Hopkins and Everette Hopkins Mr. Hopkins was of the Baptist faith. He worked as a dispatcher for the Paulding County water department. He also served in the United States Navy He is survived by his wife of 31 years Celia Wells Hopkins of Rockmart One son: Richard (Candy) Hopkins of Dallas One Daughter Christine (David) Bethune of Dallas One Brother: Stevie Couch of Dallas Three Sisters: Janice Barron of Cartersville; Sharon Loeffler and Judy Hopkins both of Dallas Eight Grandchildren: Renee Cox, Addie Pinson, Brandon Bethune, Sarah Johnson, Scott Fiouris, Michael Bethune, Taylor Hopkins, Avery Hopkins Four Great Grandchildren Jessie Greene, Tyler Pinson, Katelynn Johnson, Trenton Pinson Pallbeares include: Brandon Bethune; Scott Fiouris, Michael Bethune, Taylor Hopkins, Avery Hopkins, Jessie Greene, Tyler Pinson, and Trent Pinson. Honorary Pallbearers are Jerry Sission and Doyle Bentley Funeral Services will be held on Monday July 20, 2009 at 4pm from the Chapel of the Jeff Eberhart Funeral Home with the Reverend Tony Weaver officiating. Interment will follow in the Yorkville Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mr. Hopkin's family will receive visitors at the Funeral Home on Sunday July 19, 2009 from 3pm till 9pm and again on Monday July 20th from 9am till the time of the service in the chapel at 4pm.
