Clark Funeral Home Posted March 21, 2009 Report Share Posted March 21, 2009 Claude Tillman Byrd, JR, age 78, of Dallas, passed away on Friday, March 20, 2009. He was born on March 22, 1930, in Chamblee, GA. He was preceded in death by his father, Claude T. Byrd SR, and mother, Gaynell Ruth White. Mr. Byrd retired from the United States Air Force as Master Sergeant with 20 years of service and was a member of Light House Missionary Baptist Church. Survivors include, his wife of 62 years, Lydia Jane Byrd of Dallas, sons and daughters-in-law, Michael & Jenney Byrd of Villa Rica, and Kenneth & Angel Byrd of Dallas; daughters and sons-in-law, Claudia & Donald Pruitt of Centre, AL, and Glendia & Darrel Sheffield of Dallas; sister, Betty Wheeler of Hiram; 8 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 22, 2009 at 3 p.m., from Light House Missionary Baptist Church, with Brother Charley Williams and Reverend Jay Brice officiating. The body will lie-in-state one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow in Melrose Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, March 21, 2009, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Link to post Share on other sites

the rose Posted March 21, 2009 Report Share Posted March 21, 2009 (edited) Claude and Jane and two of the most wonderful christain people anyone could ever be associated with. I thank God that he let us be their friends. Claude will be greatly missed, but we know he is in a much better place. Our prayers and christain love to Jane and the family.
