Strickland

George Milton Strickland, age 76, of Marietta, formerly of Dallas, GA passed away on Saturday, December 13, 2008. He was born on April 16, 1932 in Paulding County, GA to the late George H. and Lila Boyd Strickland. Mr. Strickland was in Production Planning at Lockheed and retired in 1988 after 36 years of service. He was preceded in death by his sister, Alwayne Strickland Shipp.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Dora Matilda Strickland; a son and daughter-in-law, Jeff & Susie Strickland of Cartersville; a daughter and son-in-law, Leta Strickland & Rick Queen of Marietta; brothers and sisters-in-law, Joe W. & Sylvia Strickland of Dallas and Howell R. & Anna Strickland of Emerson, GA; grandchildren, Lee Strickland, John Strickland and his wife, Adriana, Chris Strickland and Dana Gray; a great-grandson, John Michael Strickland; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 16, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. from Clark Funeral Home in Hiram, GA with Rev. Don Voyles officiating. The interment will follow in New Hope Cemetery with Cecil Patterson, Bobby Denson, Carlton Morris, Wendell Eberhart, Todd Barron and Everett “Spike” Craton serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Monday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Clark Funeral Home, Hiram, GA is in charge of the arrangements. www.samclarkfuneralhome.com

THis is such sad news to our family. Having been our neighbor for many many years until he moved to be near a daughter to help care for him and his wife, he will be missed.
