Master Sgt. (Ret.) Roy Golden, age 81, of Hiram, GA, passed away on Friday, July 25, 2008. He was born July 3, 1927, in Flomaton, AL, and was preceded in death by his parents, J. B. & Alice Golden. Mr. Golden was retired from the U. S. Army as a military policeman, where he served for 27 years, during World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. Mr. Golden was a member of Mt. Nebo United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Ruth Ries Golden of Hiram, GA; son & daughter-in-law, Ronnie & Carole Golden of Hiram, GA; grandchildren, Rebecca Ann Freeman, Amanda Golden and Daniel Golden; great-grandchildren, Dylan Freeman, Madison Freeman, Abbie Freeman, Kyle Golden and Kelsey Golden.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 29, 2008, at 11:00am, from Mt. Nebo United Methodist Church, with Reverend Joe Condra and Major Edward Hausman officiating. Interment will follow at 2:00pm, in the Georgia National Cemetery, Canton, GA, with full military honors. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, July 28, 2008, from 4:00pm until 8:00pm.
