Clark Funeral Home Posted May 7, 2008 Report Share Posted May 7, 2008 Millard Walter Pope, age 66, of Powder Springs, GA, passed away on Wednesday, May 7, 2008. He was born August 19, 1941, in Atlanta, and was preceded in death by his parents, John Adam Pope & Zola Jane Pope, a brother, John B. Pope, and sisters, Mildred Childres and Margie Baughman. He was retired from Georgia Power after 39 years of service. Mr. Pope loved antique cars, fishing, amateur radio’s, and his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Sandra Biddy Pope of Powder Springs; sons & daughters-in-law, Lyndell Pope & wife, Linda of Cedartown, and Clayton Pope & wife, Kim of Paulding County; daughter & son-in-law, Rebecca McClung & husband, Mike of Hiram; sister & brother-in-law, Betty & Ralph Wright of Dawsonville; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2008, at 11:00am, from Clark Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Mill Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Woodstock, GA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday and Friday from 6:00pm until 9:00pm. I still remember the pictures of Richard Petty that hung in the living room back in the day of dirt tracks. God Bless you all - for I know the road ahead for you.
