Funeral Director Posted April 3, 2008 Report Share Posted April 3, 2008 Burma Estelle (Thurmond) Austin age 80, of Douglasville passed away Thursday, April 3, 2008, at Wellstar Community Hospice at Tranquility. Born September 12, 1927, she was the daughter of Marvin Thurmond and Agnes Hill Thurmond. Survivors include One Daughter: Joyce(Larry)Parlier of Hiram Ga; One Son: Larry(Carol) Austin of Douglasville Ga; Four Grandchildren: Jennifer and Darrell Shipp of Douglasville Ga, Summer Parlier of Hiram Ga, and Brent Shipp of Douglasville Ga; One Brother: M.C. (Jeanette)Thurmond of Dallas Ga; Two Sisters: Marvine McClung of Royston Ga, Ruth(Grady)Mayfield of Hiram Ga; Brothers and Sisters in Laws: Reba Ayers of Marietta Ga, Ruben and Mary Ayers, Tom and Julia Fae Austin, Morris and Grace Austin all of Douglasville Ga, Ruth Freeman and Woodrow and Bobby Leggett of Dallas Ga; Many Nieces and Nephews. Mrs. Burma Austin is also preceded in death by her brothers, Clinton and Hurel Thurmond and her sisters Allene Parson and Eunice McAdams. The family will receive friends Friday, April 4, 2008 from 3:00pm-9:00pm. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, April 5 at 2:00pm in Jeff Eberhart Funeral Home Chapel, Minister Rick Dunn officiating, with burial to follow at Bethany Christian Church Cemetery.
