He was an Awesome Ampie...

an honest to goodness,

for-real, true to life hero and

an quietly understated

yet

inspirational example to me,

our children and

his children,

the youngest is my husband.

As much as he will be missed,

It's good for all that his pain has ended.

With Very Much Love,

R.I.P.

Thank you very much...it has been an ordeal, in addition to the loss.

AJC was to have ran the obit Wednesday,

as the svc is early Sat am in North Ga;

The info was there last Monday, to be ran this Wednesday.

Ampie worked in excess of 40 years in Atlanta prior to

retiring to a home built entirely by the hands of himself,

his wife, "Nana", and his 2 sons & daughter (& their spouses).

John was in the Navy;

worked for Mead for several years,

and also developed his own company,

Daly Printer Services,

for the remainder of his career.

Nana, aka "Virginia",

worked for decades as a neo-natal nurse for Peidmont Hospital,

as well as over 20 years at Metropolitan Hospital,

finally finishing her career as a home healthcare nurse for N.W.Georgia Medical Center.

This couple has touched the lives of so many, and togehter their influence has been felt by thousands.

It is an absolute travesty that the notice was

"due to clerical error" omitted, and because discovery was after the deadline,

cannot be published til Friday.

Again, services are Saturday at 11 am.

Thank you, P.com, for allowing a forum to vent.

As you could imagine, this cannot be repaired,

but it is my hope that sharing this difficulty

may be helpful

to advise others of the potential for error,

so that their diligence may allow that future families

may be spared the additional difficulties.

Again, Thank you.
