susangw Posted March 5, 2004 Report Share Posted March 5, 2004 Mr. Billy Eugene Gray, age 72, of Villa Rica Highway, Dallas, Georgia, left this life for heaven on Saturday, January 24, 2004 at Wellstar Paulding Hospital. Mr. Gray was born September 18, 1991 in Rome, Floyd County, Georgia, son of the late Pleasant Roy and Ethel (Hudgins) Gray. He was a member of Pine Ridge First Congregational Methodist Church and was a proud Veteran of the US Army and Marines. He was a Staff Sgt. and served in the Korean War. Mr. Gray was also Co-Owner of Morgan's Music Company where he guitar lessons for many years. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Mrs. Bonnie Hollaway Gray, to whom he married on October 20, 1951;daughter Mr. and Mrs. Melvin (Susan) Williams, Jr. of Austell; grandson Mr. Joshua Williams of Dallas;sister Mrs. Jackie Alverson of Troutman, North Carolina and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Aubrey Gray and sister Frances Stevens. Funeral Services were conducted on Tuesday, January 27, 2004 at 1:00 PM with Rev. C.L. Powers and Rev. Johnny Carden officiating."Amazing Grace"played on bagpipes and " Go Rest High Over The Mountain" were the musical selections played. Interment followed in Paulding Memorial Gardens in Hiram with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers:Eddie Williams, Larry Gray, Dennis Koziel, Wendell Benson, Clay Hix And Earl Hurst.
