Clark Funeral Home Posted August 13, 2007 Report Share Posted August 13, 2007 Mr. Herbert Whittaker, age 79, of Hiram, GA passed away on Sunday, August 12, 2007. He was born on April 4, 1928 in Hiram to the late Grover and Ramath Whittaker. He attended the Paulding Co. School System. In 1952 he served as an infantryman in the United States Army during the Korean War. After he was discharged from the military, he moved to Detroit, Michigan where he was employed by the U. S. Postal Service and Ford Motor Co. He retired from Ford Motor Co. after 30 years of service and returned home to Hiram, GA. Survivors include his sons and daughter-in-law, Lauren & Lisa Whittaker of Orlando and Roderick Whittaker of College Park, GA; daughters, Phyllis Harden of Hiram, Cassandra Roberts of New York and Andrea Ward of New York; a brother and sister-in-law, Fred and Sarah Whittaker of Douglasville; 14 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 17, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. from Clark Funeral Home in Hiram, GA with Rev. Arthur McCarver officiating. The interment will follow in Cheatham Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Friday morning from 9:00 a.m. to the service time.
