Clark Funeral Home Posted July 27, 2007 Report Share Posted July 27, 2007 James Richard Cowan, Sr., age 85, of Silver Creek, GA, passed away on Thursday, July 26, 2007. Mr. Cowan was born July 22, 1922, in Winston, GA, the son of the late Roy & Ella Mae Cowan. His wife of 60 years, Roselle Cowan, preceded him in death. Mr. Cowan was retired as a mechanic for Westbrook’s Motors in East Point. He was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church and Bartlett Masonic Lodge #139 in Hiram. Survivors include his sons & daughters-in-law, Ricky & Linda Cowan of Hiram, Ray & Faye Cowan of Cedartown, Weyman & Darlene Cowan of Dallas, and Wayne & JoAnn Cowan of Chippewa Falls, WI; brothers & sisters-in-law, Bob & Mary Lou Cowan of Hollywood, SC and Dudley & Agnes Cowan of Draketown; sisters, Jean Brasier of Gulf Shores, AL, and Patricia Owens of Pensacola, FL; ten grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 31, 2007, at 11:00am, from Clark Funeral Home, with Dr. Gil Watson officiating. Interment will follow in Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, July 30, 2007, from 5:00pm until 8:00pm. Clark Funeral Home in Hiram, GA, is in charge of arrangements. www.samclarkfuneralhome.com.
