  1. According to state law, if there is a divided median (Grass, Curbed median, in other words there is no paved midian such as 278 in Paulding County) you do not have to stop except the direction traveling with the bus. But if there is a turning lane median like on Thorton Rd and that end of 278 all directions must stop. So on 92 hwy or other roads like Powder Springs Rd and such all traffic must stop. This is in the Ga drivers manual and has been for years.

  2. The situation I am familiar with was in DeKalb County and my friend was told it was STATE LAW that an inventory list of pawned items was given to the law enforcement every week. Maybe that is not true, but she was able to get her stolen items back when the officer matched the pawn shop list with the police report. And, she didn't have any guns. It was small appliances, TV, DVD, a particular gold necklace, etc.

Too bad nothing can be done in this situation!!

There is a record of all items pawned, but not on items sold after coming off pawn. You don't have to show ID if your are buying items unless it is an item like a gun or some other item required by law.

  3. No one would argue that cuts must be made~~And no one would argue that it's one gigantic mess~~But don't go around cutting programs like children's therapy when some doofus down at the front desk there is getting $100 a day to shine the governors shoes or something! Cut costs in appropriate places, but don't cause people in need to suffer. Make him live in a little house with stretched income with special needs kids that can't get therapy b/c of budget cuts and see what changes then.

I have 2 nephews that is 16 now and has been under doctors care since birth. And are in special need classes now. I am permently disabled and have been for 16 yrs. I still say it is not the government's responsibly. I know it's seems hard but how in the world did our mothers and fathers and grandparents make it before us. They didn't have any help. If it is a life and death matter the hospitals will treat you. Been there done that. I know this is a touchy matter but I believe God allows these things to come to us for a reason and HE will supply the need. As a Preacher of the Gospel, I believe it is the Church's matter more than the government's. We have helped countless numbers of folk that have came to us with a need.

  4. The governments job is to govern, not raise and take care of kids, or anyone else for that matter.

    My .02

I agree 100%. The current Governor had a mess to straighten out when he got into office. Remember all the $$$ that got spent by the former Governor before the current Governor was even sworn in, or do we only remember what we want and what we agree or disagree with. Remember the states aren't like the Federal Gov. they must have a balanced budget. We all should know that cuts have to be made according to the cost of things and the amount to pay with. I don't know about you but I've had to cut in some areas I really want to since the fuel situation has reached where it's at.

  5. I have not read the other posts, so someone else may have already had this opinion but.....

I voted for " LIFE WITHOUT THE POSSIBLITY OF PAROLE" not to be sympathetic with him, but after what he did the other inmates would make his death 1000 times more miserable and painful than a lethal injection.... for some reason, in this case a little shot in an iv just doesn't seem harsh enough.

Don't count on it. I have been to 95 % of all the Ga prisons and many in Fl. Al. NC. and SC. Those that get these sentences are normally in lockdown meaning they have a private cell and are allowed tv access and no physical contact with other inmates. They are extremely high maintanence at approx. $100.00/ day cost to taxpayers, not to mention paid medical, dental. Sure it's lonely but I am not sure it is unbareable to them. Most, and possibly this man are institutionalized and would rather live in prison than be free. I know this is hard to believe but as 1 that has seen the inward working and see the same ones come back every few years trust me. I have met men that would attack others and even kill officers so they could purposely spend the rest of their lives in there.

  6. I'm not a seafood eater. Do they have anything else? My family would eat the seafood, but I'd need other options. But I know we'd enjoy the rod run too.

They do have chicken fingers and several other meats, usally hamburger steak and roast. Not sure of what other types since I don't get them. But on Sunday Afternoon they have a country buffet however I haven't been there on Sunday, but several from our Church have and they really like the Sunday buffet. They also have chitterling suppers occasionally but I have never had the craving for big pile of innards. LOL

Here is the website for it but they haven't updated it in several month's it is now $14.45 for buffet and they have discontinued their menu items and only have buffet now. http://www.butlersmillrestaurant.com/

  7. You can get to Bowden either from I-20 W exit 5 (Hwy 100) or from Carrollton Hwy 166 W. From Bowden go down Ga.100. Hwy 5 will run into it a couple of miles before the Al line. Hwy 100 will turn left just before you get to the Al line but continue straight (Hwy 5). It will change Hwy 48 in AL. Continue on 48 for several miles and you will come to a 4 way stop in Graham, Al. Go straight and turn right at the 1st paved road (County Rd 92)approx.1 mile. Butler's Mill is in an old mill on the left at the Little Tallapoosa River. They have great Crablegs, catfish, shrimp. oysters, both fried and on the half shell, fried green tomatoes, fried dill pickles, great frog legs, crawfish and much more. They serve home made icecream ( in old milk buckets, and strawberry and peach cobblers. I like the fact that the cobblers and icecream is not overly sweet it is more like my Granny used to make a long time ago. If you go on the 4th Saturday night they have a very good cruise at Bowden. I realize the is the same night the the one is at Dallas so if your not able to make dallas you can eat and check out the rods at one time. It's only about 15 minutes from Bowden. Remeber they are 1 hr behind us and they open at 3:30 Al time. I recommend getting there from 3:30 TO 4:30 Al time if possible. The longest I have had to wait on Fri or Sat if you go later is 45 min to 1 hr max.

  8. Just curious, I know my wife and I can't be the only one's from PC that enjoys going to this great buffet in Graham Al. Any more of you tried it? If you haven't tried it I'd highly recommend it. I haven't tried it on Sunday afternoon for the country buffet, but the seafood buffet on Thur., Fri., & Sat. is great. It really not that bad of a ride out about 1:15 from Hiram. And the prices are really reasonable and food great.

  10.   I still can't believe they do not like each other!!!!   silly rabbits!!!!

If they are both male they will never get along together most likely. If both female they usually tolerate one another. If one male one female you may or maynot want them together, only you know.lol If 1 male 1 female and you want them to get along you must put the female in the male cage not vise versa. Females are very protective of their space and males are not welcome in their home.

  11. When working as a case manager with battered women, I repeatedly ran into Ephesians 5:22-33

Wives submit to your own husbands as to the Lord.

What many of the women failed to understand when they would quote that verse as a reason to put up with the abuse was that it goes on to say that a husband should love and respect his wife as he would love himself and the Lord.

We also saw our fair share of Colossians 3:18-19:

Wives, submit to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord. Husbands, love your wives, and do not be harsh with them.

Which, again, is all well and good unless the husband considers bashing her head in with a bat instead of a pole as not being harsh.

Amazingly, there were women that we worked with whose pastors had given them these verses as a reason to stay in the relationship and 'tough it out'.

The key to this portion of scripture is " 22  Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.

    25  Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;

If the husbands loved their wives as Christ loved the Church, I perceive that the wives would be submissive as the the Church is to Christ, because the husband would always have the good of the wife and family in mind. Of course for this to work both husband and wife must have obeying God and seeking His will in their marriage and home as their goal.

  12. I have had 11 at 5 different places in different type MRIs. The open MRIs are definitely less strestful than the regular MRIs. Some give you headphones and play what genre of music you ask, others give you earplugs and others give you nothing. The open MRI at Douglasville near the hospital was where I had my last one and I would give them a thumbs up for their service and promptness.
