  1. You have got to be kidding me.

The next topic that will appear here is how you like to wipe your butt.

Naaww...come on & tell us how you REALLY feel! :p

Just as long as it's made, I am not *too* picky. I cannot sleep in an unmade bed though. Gotta make it EVERY day. I do hospital corners on the top sheet, but don't make them too tight. Since I am the only one in my bed, I can do it however I want. :D

Anyone remember the Seinfeld episode where George & Jerry are staying in a hotel, & George requests his bed made a certain way by the maid? That was the "tuck, no tuck episode".

"One 'tuck'...one 'no tuck'.." :D George was the "no tuck" guy.

  2. Our entire family sees Dr. Bobby Hill at Powder Springs Medical clinic. He sees everyone from infants to elderly & he is WONDERFUL, personable, & thorough with everyone. My children & myself love him & his staff. I have referred lots of people to him & they all agree, he is a fine doctor. Dr. Langford in Hiram used to be in his office, & now has an office of his own in Hiram. We saw him occassionally when he was with Dr. Hill, & liked him very much too. Someone else mentioned him here too.

Dr. Hill's number is 770-943-1636 & they are located just outside of downtown Powder Springs, near La Parilla and next door to Cooper Drugs.

    Good Luck! :)

  3. OMG! I can't believe you are didn't take action knowing there is a 3 foot cooperhead out there!

Did you call 911 & Dobbins AFB to give air cover?

Have you made sure the doors are closed & the windows are locked?

You've got a 6 foot cooperhead in your yard --- that is nothing to take lightly! Why are you so danged calm?

Have you got a shotgun? And is it loaded?

I can't believe you saw an 8 foot cobra in your yard & did NOTHING! Have you lost your mind?

    DO SOMETHING!

ROFL! I love how he gets bigger & badder with each line! That cracked me up!

Hey SG, you are right that the chances are you have more than one out there. Better do something (& I do not know what) to get rid of 'em. We once had a baby in the walls of an apartment. Upon further investigation we had an entire NESt of them! :o These snakes have live births too. I recall the incident we had happened at this same time of year. There is a good chance the mom just had MANY babies at once, right there in you yard. Be careful girl!!

  4. I'm glad you have reported it, & glad you asked here before you gave them any of your info. It's sad that people do this kind of thing, but they do. I recently got an email about my paypal account, & something that I needed to do to receive some money from an auction. I did not report it, just deleted it since I had no auctions & do not even have a paypal account. Now though, I wish I'd reported it to someone, just to catch the person trying to scam me, & maybe stop them from doing it to others. I'm sorry this happened to you, but glad you were wary of it & have it handled now. Be careful!

  5. Well; call me simplistic if you want to. BUT this is my mantra: You don't have to do anything you don't want to do. :)

Depression glass is valuable. However; why is this even coming up?

Mmmm, well I am guessing she asked for it, & he wants to know why the big deal/why does she want it? Maybe he needs another "woman's point of view" on the subject?

And I disagree: I have to do LOTS of stuff I don't wanna do!

  6. I just noticed a sign tonight for the Hiram festival. What else will be going on there? Where exactly will it be held, & is this the first one? I am not really an animal person (sorry ), but I am sure there will be many other festivities, booths, & things to do. I was thinking of bringing the kids & making a day of it. Where might I find more information about this? Thanks! :)

  7. I will second the comments on the area..BAD! In fact, I did not see much of Memphis that wasn't, save for Beale Street & that area around the river. Hold tight to your purse & don't go out after dark! The Peabody is super nice & a great place to visit. I couldn't afford to stay there though. All the other motels in the area looked awful, includng the one I stayed at (Best Western, I think). There was one across the street from Graceland with a guitar shaped pool. It is next to where the plane (the Lisa Marie) is parked. It looked ok from the outside. Honestly, we drove past Graceland 3 times before we even saw it. I guess the area was not so bad when he had it built there. The way things are now (think Fulton Industrial Blvd) we just never expected to see it & kept going past. Then we spotted the plane, & saw it across the street. I was too dissapointed in the rest of the trip to stay long enough for a tour. My 2nd husband was a musician, so we went there to get married by an Elvis impersonator-lol!

My mom & granny have been a few times though & really enjoyed it. :)

  8. My 5 year old wanted to know if his name was in the bible & where. His name is Jake so I looked & read him the story of Isaac's twin sons Jacob & Esau in Genesis. He listened quite intently & later wanted to show off his new found information to his grandmother, my mother. She asked him what he had learned & he rattled off part of the story to her. When she asked him what the names of the twins were he answered "Jacob and...UTAH!"

My mother also wanted to get him invovled with a youth program called KFC (Kids for Christ). He seemed ok when we talked about it, but later he mentioned it to me & I could tell he was confused. "Tomorrow is the KFC thing right?," he said. "Yep, are you going to like that?" I asked him. "Yeah I guess. I mean, I love fried chicken."

  9. In regards to the little girl, did anyone else hear the man on the news describing what he saw? The details he gave on TV were a bit much, I know it is the truth, but that is a mental picture I could have done with out. Am I the only one?

YEAH, LAST NIGHT i HEARD IT & IT BOTHERED ME VERY MUCH AS WELL. oops caps locked-sorry. Anyway, yes I thought it a bit too graphic. I noticed on another channel this morning though that the same interview was shown, but audio was cut just as he started the description of what he saw. I was thankful that they edited it out this time. We can already imagine how horrible it must have been. I didn't think such a graphic desciption was necessary. I much more preferred the other gentlemen's interview in which he explained what he saw & heard, then went on to say he knew he couldn't have done anything, & he did not want to see any more, so he remained on his front porch & instead, he prayed.

I also saw, on one channel only, the tail end of an obviously very short interview with the baby's father. He was walking away & saying something to the effect of "no further comments." He was visibly distraught & asking the reporters to leave his home. I can't believe how pushy & insensitive news reporters can sometimes be in order to catch emotional testimony. Give the poor parents a break! Their child had just died, sheesh! :(

  10. It has happened to me twice. I have yet to get it all straightened out, so thanks for the reminder. I have crap all over my credit report that I have NO idea how got there. About 5 years ago there was a hispanic woman using my card number for all kids of stuff. As best I can recall, there was an apartment, car, & some credit cards issued to her under my number. It was such a mess & a headache, but I need to do some more checking & get it all cleared up. UGH, more crap to take care of.

Good luck in your situation. You definitely need to get it all straight.

  11. This was first posted yesterday when it happened. I watched the 11pm & the noon news today to see the story. The driver (a man, not a lady) has not been charged, because it was an accident & unavoidable. I think they were chalking it up to the weather (just started to rain) as it being unavoidable. He was simply unable to stop the car in time, but they have said he was not speeding nor driving recklessly. I believe it was stated that the man had his own family in the car too, his wife & young child.

Children, especially young ones, are very quick. I agree that it would seem this accident could have been avoided with closer watch on the child, but we were not there & do not know what happened exactly. I am sure there is no way this grandmother would ever intentionally turn her back on her grandchild or allow her to play unsupervised near the street. Young chldren can be very fast when they are exploring their surroundings. A million things can be said in hindsight about being more safe, but none of those help this poor, grieving family now.

All involved should be kept in prayer. No one needs to judge now. Just let this serve as a painful reminder to check, double check, & when you think you are careful, be even MORE careful. Accidents do happen & sometimes they can be avoided, sometimes they cannot.

I pray for Cheyanne & her family, as well as the family of the man who struck her. I cannot imagine their pain.

  12. I've had 4 c sections & they just used the same scar each time after the 1st. Now my 1st one was in 1992 & I understand they do a better job these days. My scar isn't as low as I'd like, maybe 2 inches above the pubic bone. It is also not very small :( at about 6 inches across. My 1st born was a big boy though, maybe that's why. I can still wear a two piece, but I don't. :p I wouldn't think anyone would want to see it either, lol.

Unfortunately I do not think this birth or the circumstances of it will keep Ms. Spears clothes on. She will be back to her "normal" (used loosely) self in no time, I bet. A few sit ups, & she'll be back to flaunting all she's got whether we like it or not. :D

  13. you know those little bitty roses in glass vials?

    mmm hmm.

Those & the copper things are actually for crack consumption. They do sell the meth paraphenalia (pipes) as well though. Right here in our little town too. Makes you sick, doesn't it? I recently read a book called Meth=Sorcery. Very interesting, & I'd say very true as well. It is truly an epidemic, worse than any other drug that's ever been.

As far as the slap on the wrist to the 15 year old. I am not surprised really, but sickened-yes. They truly have been coming down on this devastating drug & it's users, but this shows that they aren't coming down hard enough. Spending some time in jail will certainly open ones eyes however, 9 out of 10 times they only learn more about it & how to get it from other users in jail. In my opinion, more rehab needs to be administered, but then there is the cost for such. Ultimately too, no one will quit until they are damn ready for it. A 15 year old would probably not see the need to quit yet. They have no idea yet, the devastation they are/will cause to their families & selves. I know people who have done it for years, have lost everything, & still don't think they don't need to stop. I have no answers, just a hate for the drug & all it consumes. I've lost many friends to it, & watched many friends lose their entire families too. Sad.
