  1. I would like to be at that meeting. Not only do my children live close to the questioned site, Hiram Elem, the Comet trail, Hiram Park, Hiram baseball and football fields are all within a tight 3 to 5 mile area. With all the land in Paulding that is not near any of the above, just because it may be owned by Ron Crist, I am sure other property can be bought that would be less impact on Hiram.

  2. What is going on with the roads (like Hwy. 61) where there is new construction and shops being built and you can not turn left into them? Now they have put up the camras to ticket people who turn left.... granted the signs say"NO LEFT TURN' and it is the law, but to go into the stores or the Sub's you have to turn into neighborhoods to turn around and that is horrible for all. Where are the turning lanes. They are repaving the roads and no left turn lanes??? Who is making these ideas come to pass?

  3. Oh my, I never said anyone’s right to vote was not respected, I embrace the right to vote. It is our American born right and responsibility not a privilege. It is unfortunate you read that in what I wrote. It was not in the content. I absolutely know a few who voted yes because their children were soooo upset with spilt sessions.

When I woke up this morning I still felt the same way and I still feel homeowners are bearing the costs and this county is not using other options that should and could be used. The bill passed. I have to take some of the blame as next time I will be more involved, vocal of the issues, and a better citizen. I will be opened to new and sometime better options and I promised not to use the term tunnel vision. . .

  4. I am so disappointed by the yes voters of Paulding County. I am ashamed of the scare tactics and used. Yes the vote was about the children at the expense of the homeowners. Agreed we needed more monies, however not all the options were used. Since when are homeowners punished by the county because we have children, and other counties do most everything to take the burden off the homeowners and parents. I am sorry to the children because of the burden they are portrayed to be in Paulding County. Gee, let me think without the families of Paulding we wouldn’t need the school system. Maybe a change in all the County Government is needed. Clinton was tossed for a lot less.

  5. It is a really nice Antique Store. I have been in there and really like one of the booths there. But I have found that most of the stuff is really really high compared with some of the other places I go too. It is a great store to go and look and you can find that little something if you really look for a decent price. I do love the history stuff and have learned alot. It is a very preety store. Nice to take out of towners to to show off and have some coffee across the street. But as far as having affordable antiques... well.....

  6. :p Had a chance to go to the very first Front Porch Auction in Paulding and had a blast... They had so many neat antiques and I bought a 24k retro ashtray and friends bought furniture and some silver. The ladies own the Front Porch Antique store in Douglasville and I think that helped with the stuff they put up in the auction. Real stuff. Free, yes Free Coffee and it was good too. The food was preety cheap and a little upscaled... (yeah!!!)

it is really nice to support local in Paulding. I know we will be going alot.

Here is the web site I copied off the card.

  11. I loved.... the Auction at Walton's behide Home Depot. I couldn't get over what I took home for the prices.. It was so fun. A bunch of us went and had a ball bidding on antiques and furniture. Who would have thought!!! Has any one else been? I understand that it is every other Sat. nite and to look for the signs. What a fun way to shop for those hard to find antiques and stuff.

  12. :D We loved the new Flea Market!!! It was so fun and clean. We bought bunches of fabric for .99 a yard!!! I heard that they are going to have vintage buttons cheap, cheap, cheap. I hope so since I have to go to Lakewood to get good prices... The people were a hoot and really nice. I heard that it is going to get bigger. Booths I liked.... The 2 ladies with the fabric, The pink pickle that sells purses and the candle lady with the soy candles. What I am not to sure of is the chickens....
  13. Ok, so here we have it pro and against. Airport or not? I think it is a good ideal. Keep out the bus our airport in. I'm not sure but I think that if we try to keep sound choices here in Paulding then we will be alright. I do know that Paulding county is not a landowner, house owner friendly county. I do not think the problem is Old boy, nor new to the area. I think it's money in the pocket. I too am one of the houses that were effected by the 61 Trailer Park and as many times as I tried to get help none was given. I know for a fact that what was done was not on the up and up, how-ever you would think the county would have jumped to that fact and helped all the home owners. Sewage, water, noise, has all been a huge safety issue and still is. So why should I not care about an airport when so many people may use and enjoy it. Taking your children to see the planes is not a bad thing. I know that the woods and land are going to be used, so an airport is better then more shopping or apartments.

    Just an idea. :(
