  1. Very interesting...

One of my daughter's old boyfriends accidentally bumped into another vehicle in the Blockbuster parking lot just next door to Kroger. It was dark, and he didn't think he did any damage either. Contrary to what you were told, he WAS charged with leaving the scene and it wasn't pretty. Turned out very serious. I do agreee that they should take responsibility -- but just be careful.

The car was not parked in the fire lane, but in a parking space. We did contact the police and they said that they have no report, and since it happened on private property, that they will take no action. We want our child to know that no matter how minor the damage, that he is responsible. We are not worried about our car at all, it is only a scuffed bumper, but we want to make sure that we pay for repairs to the other vehicles owner, and make our child apologize for not staying to deal with the situation. I don't want him to think that he got away with something. I want him to own his mistake and deal with the aftermath.

  2. Carole,

We are so very sorry for your loss. You have such a wonderful family and we'll be thinking of you, Megan and Abigail. Please let us know if we can do anything.

  3. I agree, even a good chiropractor can't fix everything. I had the epidural shot in my spine twice. I was in so much pain when I went in, and got instant relief afterwards. I think you can get up to 3 within a certain period of time. I only needed two. Been pain free for almost ten years. Just have to be careful with my back now. The chiropractor is my friend -- but even he couldn't fix my herniated disc. Only the epidural and physical therapy worked. Don't be afraid. It will be worth it.

    Good luck!

I feel like my problem is a pinched nerve or potentially a disc rupture. Still, the neurologist said that I could get some sort of shot?? I don't think I want a needle in my spine unless absolutely necessary. It's affecting my ability to sleep and increasing in pain to numbness, so I feel I have no choice but to look at alternate treatments.

  4. And... where is she going to find the TIME to go to school if she's giving all those kids the attention they need -- and no dad around to help?

By-the-way, I read that she said there were only 6 embryos and two of them split into twins. Duh! Six was still waaaayyyy too many.

Not to worry, folks. Ms. Suleman has it under control. Once she finishes her Master's degree in counseling, she'll be able to provide for all of her 14 children.

(According to Collegegrad.com, the average salary for an entry-level licensed professional counselor with a Master's degree is $40,291 in California, where Ms. Suelman lives.)

  5. Way too much drama.

Does anyone know if the Newnan High School Senior "Alan Jackson" made it through? He sounded really good when he sang on the radio last week. Just curious -- Somehow I've missed this.

    Anyone else watching?

    Oh! The DRAMA!!!

  6. Well. That's not fair. It shouldn't matter what kind of check. If the date matters on one -- it should matter on the other. Businesses can do it to us (make us wait), but we can't do it to them. Just one more example of how the same rules don't apply to everyone. Grhhhhhh

company pay roll is different then personal checks...

The county also does their checks like this at times,

when I got mine I would assume I could cash it, but the banks would not cash it until the date of the check, we just got them a few days early...

  7. Nope. It's great. She started off with an electric one that has the small wheels (just like the non-motorized ones). That's probably better for the younger ones because they're closer to the ground. Then a couple of years later (age 10), she grew and got heavier and it wouldn't hold the charge as long because it was pulling more weight. That's when we got the bigger one with the tires. She was a little intimidated by the seat at first, but ended up loving it. We did have to order her another charger after about a year. We got it from the razor website for around $30-$40. The scooter's still working great 2-3 years later.

Ok thanks I will check into that

Ok thanks. Is there anything you don't like about it? Or wish you would have done diffrent?

  8. We got our daughter one at JC Penney's or Sears (Arbor Place) for Christmas a couple of years ago. It's a Razor with the seat and bigger tires. One of the best gifts we've ever bought for her. She loves it. It's similar to the one in the middle at the 1st link.

Also, be sure to look for weight limits. Typically, the more expensive, the bigger the tires and the more weight they'll hold too. Compare the Razor E100, E200, and E300 to see the differences.

    Good luck!

Is there a place in Paulding County or close by that sells kids electric skooters? I saw a little girl riding a purple one the other day and thought that would be neat for my boys ( instead of a four wheeler- they are not ready for that yet). I would need 3 so does anyone know theprice range on these things? TIA

Well you just have to keep posting--your really not being ignored, It just takes a while for everyone to recongnize your name and avtar. Keep posting even if you think you are talking to yourself. The other morning I was up all alone on here. First time I have ever been all alone. I posted away and eventually someone answered me and then it was on. ( of course by the time that happened I was asleep but caught up with them later on). You post like everyone is reading. And before long they will be.

  11. That is very sweet of you. Sometimes I feel like I've been blacklisted or something. I don't post much, but when I do, I think it's usually something worthy. Sometimes I get ignored, so people like me appreciate thoughtful people like you.

Something else I tend to do. Is if I see a topic that noone has posted on it, I usually have to go say something to help get it going. ;)

  12. It really brings new meaning to the phrase "tomorrow's another day". We should all have hope that things will get better. One day at a time.

I'm happy for you and I hope things look up soon.

My family has had a very rough week with our dog suddenly dying, bills piling up,flat tire, etc and although I almost had a melt down yesterday from all the worries, saddness, etc but for some reason I just woke up today feeling incredible happy. I think today is going to be a good day and although nothing is planned to happen and in all honesty our world is financially crumbling I just have such a feeling of peace.....

do you ever just have these feelings when everything around you should keep you from feeling that way?

Just thought it was strange :)

This is not a vent or pity party bc although it has been rough I never lose sight at how lucky I am with an incredible marriage and 4 wonderful kids

  13. Obviously, the bus won't come to pick her up at your new location. But, if you take her and pick her up (or use the After School Program), they won't know unless you guys tell them. I'm pretty sure if you change your address with the school, they'll be forced to make you transfer.

We did this for the last two months of school several years ago. In the afternoons, our middle school child went from Hershell Jones to the Boys & Girls club on their bus and our elementary school child stayed at Poole in the after school program. Dad picked them up and I took them both to school each morning. It required me to alter my work schedule but it was well worth it.

If we moved Beth will transferring from Union to Poole Can I leave her in Union for the rest of the year if i take her or do we "Have" to transfer

  14. This sounds great. Do you cover it with foil while it's cooking?

    Thanks!

    This is the =@ !

  15. This is too funny. You must first read the article before watching the video.

Jennifer and Jim kept getting huge water bills. They knew beyond a doubt that the bills weren't representative of their actual usage, and no matter how they tried to conserve water, the high bills continued. They could see nothing wrong; they had everything checked for leaks or problems: the water meter, outdoor pipes, indoor pipes, underground pipes, faucets, toilets, washer, ice maker, etc., all to no avail!

One day Jim stayed home in bed, but kept hearing water running downstairs. He finally got out of his sick bed to investigate, and stumbled onto the cause of the bills. Apparently this was happening all day long when they were at work. Knowing that few would believe him, he taped a segment of this outrageous 'problem' for posterity:

    You won't believe this!

  16. One of the funniest shows on TV is "Two and a Half Men". The writers for all the characters are just awesome. And you have to read between the lines to get some of Charlie's stuff.

Don't mind admitting we love that show at my house.

    Come on. We wont tell.

I am a reality junkie, but the show that I must say is so super trashy and I can not get enough of is

    drum roll please...

    The Bad Girls Club

I would show you on youtube, but I may get in trouble. So search it. It is hysterical

  17. It's gotta be Nip Tuck. What a guilty pleasure that show is...

And sometimes "Days of Our Lives". Those daytime soap operas get really silly sometimes. But, after 25 years, I'm hooked.

  18. I just got my first one.

Thanks and Merry Christmas to you all!!!!

We are searching for Pcom members that have no Mayberries. Thank you Lady Raider for the idea.

With the ever increasing number of members, it is hard to locate and rate everyone. While we see the regulars who post everyday, there are many who read a lot and post very little or none at all.

If you have been a member for a year or longer and have no Mayberry, please post here in this topic.

    BTW:

If you would like to recommend someone for a Mayberry, please send a PM to the mod of your choice.

  19. I heard this a while back too so I started saying NO to debit and using mine as a Credit Card at the pump. I think the deal is that the "debit" is associated with a checking account that can possibly not have enough money in there when the charge goes through. Credit cards pretty much let you build up as much as you want. Even though the card is still debit, the pump looks at it has a credit card if it has the visa/mc logo.

Anyway, it scared me enough to stop using the debit choice at the pump...

Seems they are doing that with debit cards...

I did that first thing, cause I didn't know why I was charged $99. They told me I would be guaranteed to get it back in 3 days... <_< and that this happens when you pay with debit card at the pump. So much for convenience....

  20. We actually loved it! But IF the organizers are interested in constructive feedback---

It would be awesome if the parade could START with one of the marching bands. That would kick things off right and let people know it's coming. We need to hear Christmas music throughout the parade to keep us pumped up and in the holiday spirit. Having all the vehicles play the same "Christmas Music" radio station would help too (B98.5).

That's the only thing I would change.

I have just returned from the Christmas parade. I wanted to express some opinions about this years Christmas parade if the board can tolerate a few observations. :o

The hot rodding cars in the streets is VERY dangerous. I work at a major news organization in ATL and I've seen the videos when the cars go out of control. The number of kids standing in the street and not even on the sidewalk or darting into the street for a tootsie roll make this a no brainer. While I do not think there was as much of this as in the past it was certainly a part of the parade and should not be allowed. Thoughts?

The parade was two hours LONG. It seemed every bit of four hours. It was one big rolling billboard and it really got old fast. My daughter has been to 3 parades with her first at 1 month old and has not made it to the end once. I figured surely she would make it until Santa arrived the year but she was sound asleep about 1 hour and 30 minutes in. I was even fidgeting. Do we really need 6-7 cars from each dealership with a couple of people throwing candy?
