Well, upon doing some research on the BBB about this company, I don't feel very comfortable using them. I called Gerber and they quoted me $213.70 for the glass, molding, and tax, out the door. He assured me that they use PGW glass and all of their techs have 10+ years experience, so I made an appointment with them on Wednesday. A few extra bucks is worth the piece of mind, thanks for the advice!

Well, I originally had a claim filed through my insurance and SafeLite was going to come tomorrow and put a new windshield on. My deductable is $250, so today I decided to check around for prices. I got the best quote from a company called Accuracy Glass, who will come out and do it all for $156.90 + tax.

I dunno, it didn't make a clean hole, I pretty much taped it up immediately, I guess it busted hard enough to bust the inside part too, but there is still film between? Just standard OEM Toyota Windshield.

Well, I parked in a church parking lot near where I got my windshield busted yesterday, and walked up and down either side of the road looking for anything that might have been the culprit. The only thing I found were a pretty good number of small, heavy, white stones, like the kind you might lay down in a garden, just laying on the grass on the side of the road. My guess is either a truck spilled them and one got stuck in someones tire or something and hit my windshield, or there is someone out there shooting them up in the air with a slingshot or something.

I am going to go right after work and look for it, well, depending on weather or not my wife needs me to take care of her, she is sick today. This was definitely something small and very hard. It hit right where my windshield meets my dashboard and put a dime sized hole right in it, and cracked out from there. I didn't see anything on my dashboard but glass, but there was a definite sharp heavy sounding "pop" when it hit. I was thinking of going back out there tomorrow when the sun is out (unless its cloudy again) and seeing if I can't find anything laying on the side of the road. I was driving to a birthday dinner today at 4:30 pm and about a half mile after I crossed over hwy 61 on hiram-sudie rd, something just came straight down and busted a hole in my windshield. I saw it for a split second, white, and falling straight down, put a hole right in my windshield. there was a car way way ahead of me, and i was just starting to speed back up from slowing down for a car in front of me who had just turned, i was only going about 30 mph.
