  1. ??? Not sure why that would make him a hypocrite, but I will tell you I have personally gone to a restaurant on a Sunday when I realized we did not have a bottle of wine and I wanted a glass with dinner. :pardon: (Would have been much cheaper to just have to stop at the grocery store and pick one up, but that's okay, helped out a local business)

Disclaimer: Before anyone starts jumping up and done and screaming I do not not drink and drive.

Not saying HE was a hypocrite, only people who say these things, generally speaking

  2. I imagine the recent years of a down economy are contributing to more folks drinking and unfortunately some are choosing to drive. I know from working in bars, they are full of depressed people looking to drown their sorrows. And in recent years people have certainly found more "sorrow" than not. I really don't think you can draw a correlation to what day of the week they choose to drink.

To say it's because of the economy is also BULL! THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO EXCUSE FOR DRINKING AND DRIVING! none!PLease read my post again! I am not making a correlation to what day of the week they choose to drink. What I am saying is ,don't be a hypocrite and tell me you go to a bar to drink on Sundays, because you can't buy it in stores!

  3. Uhhhh... yes. Or what, do you really think a desperate alcoholic would refuse to drink and drive?

How about reading my post again. What I am trying to say is, If liquor could be bought in stores, people would still go to bars, drink, then drive home. Some people are trying to make it sound as though they HAVE to go to bars and drink on Sundays because they can't buy it in store on Sundays. Why do they say "If only they would sell it in stores on Sunday, I would buy it and take it home". Bull crap,If that was the case, then why are DUI'S and alchohol related car accidents on the rise?Sundays would be no different than any other day of the week.

  4. Agreed, but at least they wouldnt be forced to go to a bar or restaurant to drink, they would have the choice to do it at home. I will never drink even a sip of alcohol if i know i am going to have to drive. So if i am out of wine, lets say even to cook with, i am completely out of luck if it is on the Protestants Sabbath.

Why would someone feel forced to go to a bar to drink just because they can't buy it on Sundays in a store??? Alchoholics maybe??I agree with you, although We only drink wine occasionally,I would NEVER drink, not even a sip if I know I am going to have to drive.People are still going to go to bars and restaurants,or to friends houses and drink, period. Too many stupid folks out there!!

  5. You are correct. It would NOT increase consumption, but it would pave a way for drinkers to go buy what they want, TAKE IT HOME, and drink ti there. I just don't want them on the roads.

My problem with this is, If liquor stores were allowed to sell on Sundays, what makes you think people would buy it then take it home? If that was the case, there would not be as many drunk drivers on the roads the rest of the week, seeing that liquor stores sell the other 6 days of the week. Sad to say, people are still going to go to bars, drink, then drive home!

  6. I recently found a recipe for spinach lasagna, but instead of the lasagna noodles, I take spinach, onions, garlic, creamed cheese and mozzerella cheese, stuff it into the large seashell macaroni, place into a cassarole dish, top with spaghetti sauce and mozzerella and bake at 350 for 25 minutes

  7. Just an update to let everyone know that Brandon Elsberry is on his way home. He called my daughter this morning, and after much pleading on her part, he has decided to come home. She has gone now to pick him. Thanks to everyone one who has kept his family in your prayers.

  8. We sure don't have to watch tv to get our fill of drama here in Paulding County, all we have to do is get on pcom. Actually, every day you live with a teenager, you get more than your fill of drama. I am so glad he is on his way home and I am sure this family will be shedding a lot of happy tears. Would everyone please tell all of our teenagers to just stop it!! We can't take any more runaways, or any more of our kids getting hurt. Prayers said for all of our kids.

    AMEN TO THATclapping.gif clapping.gif clapping.gif

  9. First I am so glad he has been heard from.

Second I was thinking the same thing. Actually when I first saw this thread there were 150 views and not ONE response. I was kind of ticked and disappointed in my fellow p.commers because I felt like the lack of response was due to his perceived life style based on his picture. Then when the whole not being allowed to put up posters thing came up I was livid and started to put something on here but backed off and wanted to keep the focus on finding him and not on how ignorant some people might be. Perhaps there is a policy at the stores about putting up posters but I do wonder if he was, like you said in a football uniform or a cute cheerleader would the posters/flyers have been allowed to be put up? I have a feeling the answer is yes. If that is indeed the case it is a sad day when you can hang a flyer up of a missing pet but not a teenage boy.

Anyways, like I said I am glad to hear he is SAFE and HOPEFULLY on his way home!

I am so glad I am not the only one who thought this way.I hated to say it but I am sure this is true. I would be concerned no matter the race or lifestyle.

  10. To begin with I want to say HUGE thank you to everyone who has posted their concern for Brandon. He is now on his way home!!!yahoo.gif yahoo.gif yahoo.gif Meghan just called to let me know he was in the car and they are on their way!! I talked to him for a minute to let him know how worried we have all been for him, BUT if he ever does that again I will snatch him baldheaded!!!!

  11. so is Brandon back home now?

Meghan just called and she is about 5 minutes from getting to wherever she is supposed to pick him up. She will call me when they are close to home

I will be glad to hear when everyone is safely back home.

    AMEN!!!!!

  12. OMG that is awesome news!!!clapping.gif:clapping:clapping.gif Like many others, I have been following the posts about Brandon and so glad, relieved, happy, excited, you know all the emotions, that he has been contacted and is hopefully on his way home. When he gets home, please make sure he knows just how people, family, friends and strangers have been so concerned about him. He's an important part of many people's lives. Let us all know when he is finally home and how he's doing.

Definately will do that!! Thanks for all the prayers!

I am happy that he is safe and that he was found, however, I'm not happy on what he put his family and friends through after being a run-away. ((Hugs)) to his family for being strong through all this!

I know what you mean.I don't know what I would have done if it had been My daughter
