We are having the 1st annual American Sleep Apnea Association fund raising no tap bowling tournament on Saturday April 5, 2008 @ 4:00 Pm. (Registration begins at 3 pm)

Come on out and bowl with us. Don't miss out on all the fun and the opportunity to help a good cause!! Paulding Bowling Center - 1132 Old Harris (behind the Huddle House) Dallas, Ga 770-445-5477.

April is Sleep Apnea Awareness month for Georgia in memory of Curtis Lee Pickett 4-6-35 - 7-6-02.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather & friend who passed away from complications of sleep apnea. This is a common disorder that affects millions of men, women, and children, but often goes undiagnosed despite the potentially serious consequences of the disease. Apnea actually means "without breath".

Sleep apnea is a disease that can be simple to treat with a CPAP (continuous positive airway pressure) machine if diagnosed early, but if left undiagnosed can be deadly. We know it can cause heart problems, strokes, lung (COPD) problems, kidney failure, headaches, reflux, depression, impotency, auto & workplace accidents, feeling tired in the morning than you did when you went to bed, but usually starts with loud snoring &/or high blood pressure. We think it may be connected to cancer & alzheimer's disease also. This is why we need much, much more research done.

The national chapter & the ga chapter of the American Sleep Apnea Association is dedicated to reducing injury, disability & death from sleep apnea & to enhancing the well-being of those affected by this common disorder. We would like to help raise money to assist in the cause & to help find a cure through research of this dreadful disease. You can help by participating in this fun no-tap bowling tournament!! $20.00 Per person-- there will be a prize for the top bowler of the night.

Don't forget our monthly meeting at Wellstar Paulding Hospital in the first floor conference room from 7-9 PM on the first Tuesday (tomorrow night) of each month. There are no fees or registration for this meeting. Please come and learn as much as you can about this dreadful disease and help us educate the general public. Help us save lives & give them a better quality of life. Hope to see you all at the bowling tournament & at the monthly meetings.

  2. Wow...that thing is uuuuugggggllllllllllyyyy. Hope you find out what it is. And I hope I never find one. Good luck with your search.

My hubby and the guys he works with found this little guy. We have never seen one. Has anyone else? Where can i find out what it is if ya'll dont know???

ETA: The white on his face is his whole beak i guess thats what it is lol

  3. Victoria Cove is on the left on Hwy. 61 South just before Lawrence Junction Mobile Home Park. The properties adjoin.

I am curious as to where the juveniles live? In the subdivision or in the mobile home park or somewhere else? They are constantly walking the highway between Victoria Cove and the McDonald's at Scoggins Road.

It is very sad to think that someone would feel so unsafe in their home, especially in Paulding County!

    :excl:

I don't understand why people don't think that crime is in Paulding County!!! This county is surrounded by crime. Just because it isn't on the news doesn't mean that it's not happening. We have everything from juvenile crimes, gangs and gang members to child molesters and rapist in this county!!!! Especially on the SOUTH SIDE where most of the trailer parks and older housing areas are located. Not to say that theres not any crime in the newer sub-divisions, but with neighborhood watches and some security in place in the newer sub-divisions and housing areas, it is least likely. I guess my main point is....WE HAVE CRIME IN PAULDING COUNTY...just like everyone else. We just don't call the news media everytime something happens because people in Paulding don't like for everything to be publicized.

  4. Webmaster,

Not sending an e-mail allows the pot to build, and give those of us who are actually keeping track a better chance of winning. However, sending an e-mail maybe once a week, like on Saturday for example, will at least keep them coming and visiting the website. I know I've been real busy at work with inventory and tax season coming up, so a once a week e-mail reminder might be just the thing!

  5. Webmaster,

I have a question. It may sound stupid, but here it goes! If the Cash 3 numbers are drawn, and let's say for example they are your numbers, 001, which member numbers would be eligible to win? Would 100 and 010 also be eligible? or does it have to be in the exact order as they were called on the cash 3? Sorry to be so confusing. Val <_<

  6. I agree with the problem of the Water System availability. Last year when all of Georgia was going through a drought period, there were areas in Paulding County that had water restrictions that were so heavy people were only allowed to wash their laundry at certain times during the day. They could only water their lawns at night and only two nights a week. This year we have had more rain than in the past two years. However, some of the water restrictions still were not lifted in order to rebuild the county's water system, so there are some families that still have to suffer with limited water supply. And if those families break the restrictions, they get FINED! I mean come on! We pay enough taxes (as stated in previous views) and enough fines as it is. This should be covered.

So on top of all these "water restrictions", water availability and problems with having adequate water supply to local businesses, developers want to build more houses and put more industries so that we have to build more schools in the county. Where is the water going to come from for those homes and businesses? They can't have mine! I'm glad my family was lucky and smart enough to have bought a home 5 years ago (before all these problems occurred) that is NOT in a subdivision and we are lucky enough to have well water.

  7. Ok...I went back and counted and I think this next question is question number 11.

Is it the Paulding County division of the Red Cross-Blood Drive? If not........

Referring back to the "vest" hint..........

    11. If any, what type of clothing does this thing or organization wear? (please give colors if possible).

    12. Are there any liquids of any sort?

  8. Yes, be patient. I am new and I have already made several postings. People like to learn about their community. Some just like to read (or be nosy) and some like to get involved in what's going on in their surroundings. I am one who likes to get involved. I also think your "Most Popular" contest is going to accomplish exactly what you are looking for. Especially since this will give others a way to meet new friends and chat to each other without being on the same ISP. So CHEER UP! It will all work out.

  9. I think it's awful. They will want to raise taxes again for more schooling, yet the past 5 years they've raised taxes twice. That's why Paulding is already up to 7%, and both times it was for a school tax. Not to mention they have started building new schools. My child went to Shelton last year, this year she is enrolled in the new Russom Elementary, which isn't even open yet! They have combined Shelton and Russom at one school and it is chaotic. The school is over crowded and the bus schedule is even worse. I pray they have the building for Russom Elem. done by the Christmas break so these kids can have some "elbow" room.

In the area where we live they are building a total of 5 new sub-divisions. All the wild life has disappeared! When we moved to this area 4 1/2 years ago we loved it! We enjoyed the peace a quiet of living "out in the country-side". But now the traffic just in our immediate area (Ivy Gulledge Rd.) is awful. We're thinking of moving out of Paulding in the future because it is getting way too crowded.
