  1. one of my co-workers just said 575 is closed.. could explain the traffic on 75.
  2. what happened to bakers bridge road? I haven't left the house since this morning. Rain has gone between not raining and downpour for the last couple hours over here. I heard E/W connector is closed today too.. even if I would have gotten to hiram I wouldn't have made it to work. I dont think my boss understood how bad this was either.. I hope I can go to work tomorrow.
  3. wow this is getting worse... I dont live far from senator road. I haven't been outside since this morning. It just started pouring again here a few minutes ago. Some people in my neighborhood have left but they come back fairly quickly.
  4. whats worse is my boss didn't seem to believe me when I told him I didn't think it was safe to go out today... I have a truck and a car.. I tried to take the car this morning.. BIG mistake.. nearly flooded out in the neighborhood coming back home. we have more rain coming too yall! tomorrows not lookin good either if it hits us hard. I know there's a low spot on 278 that floods just past the theater, is that where its blocked off?
  5. I live a mile from a kroger, I think I'll be alright.. but I have 5 gallons on hand already. Never thought I'd need them for a rainy day tho!
  6. I just called in.. they're expecting another big system to come through this afternoon.. any of this flooding that starts to subside is gonna come right back this afternoon it sounds like.
  7. hwy 92 south of 278 is closed at nebo road. (or it was at 6:15AM) morningstar road is flooded but "open" if you can get through it. Pinevalley road closed before brownsville road heading east. bennett road wasn't looking too good either. bakers bridge road has signifigant flooding, ridge road has light flooding may be getting better now, I dont hear the downpour outside anymore..
  8. good grief! i tried to get to work this morning.. after 5 of my 6 routes were blocked by deep water or road closures I came back home.. only to nearly get flooded out in my own neighborhood!! I suppose a split foyer is good for something.. I'm a good 10' off the ground lol.
  9. What I've thought about doing.. and what I'd actually do are 2 different things. my mind has come across ALL KINDS of crazy ideas.. but I wouldn't' dare do any of them. The ones that are legal seem unreasonably difficult to do.. I dont know why this county doesn't allow its citizens the ability to protect its neighborhoods from this kind of menace. I guess thats why places like senators ridge and bright water have what seems to be like a police-state type HOA agreement heh. I read through the ACC and other documents for those neighborhoods.. and I can site 3-4 examples in my small
  10. yea bumps you can hit comfortably at around 20-25mph w/o slowing down if you have normal profile tires.. lo-pros are a different story. humps however are broad curves that can actually be damaging to your vehicle at high speeds. I wouldn't throw gravel in the road.. the guy would wind up upside down on my neighbors house. Knowing them.. they'd leave it that way for a few years. if you drive a firetruck, dont be surprised if my neighbor winds up setting his tall grass on fire this winter by parking a car with a glowing hot cat converter on it... I can only hope we have a wet wi
  11. the one time I have interacted with the guy he called me "boy" despite being 10 years his senior, and told me that "what he does on his property is his business" .. even though he was doing burnouts in the street. I was filming the neighborhood and happened to notice he was violating the water ban and washing one of his cars. Sorry buddy.. but I love my car too... and if I gotta neglect mine, so do you.. (this is before the ban was lifted mind you..) since then he has tailgated me through the neighborhood every time he has had a chance. I go 20-25mph every time.. (I do anyway cos its a
  12. thanks, I just read through the PDF.. its a bit depressing really heh. Its impossible to get anything done in this county! I've heard its actually illegal in cobb to even park in your own grass.. wouldn't that be nice.. from what I understand 85% of the speeds recorded mut be more than 10mph over the limit? I suppose it depends where they put the device to track the speed.. we have a big hill at the entrance that everyone is going to speed on regardless.. this recession has destroyed my property value.. and so have the people that live in my neighborhood. I dump thousands and thousands o
  13. oh dear.. every resident? I remember years ago my mother had to do this to petition for street lights in columbia county. They eventually got them, but it was an ordeal. Thanks for the link.. I imaginet there's no way I'd get bubba and his mustang to sign a petition to put in speed bumps. He'd know hes THE reason we need them and refuse. Other than him and one other neighbor the place is generally ok... everyone speeds a bit but 30 is a far cry from 50.
  14. I'm sorry but sliding around turns in your car, doing burnouts in it in the street at 11pm on a weeknight, threatening to kill neighbors kids because they touched your car (because yuou nearly ran over them with your OTHER car) offroading in your own back yard (in a half acre lot) and needlessly revving your engine.. what other word is there for this type of person? Theres only 2 ways this guy will slow down.. a wreck or he runs over someone's kids.. or we put in speed bumps. I have called again and again and asked for patrols through my neighborhood. To my surprise the one time I DID see a co
  15. "Douglasville" Paulding co. They have argued with me before about who is supposed to send police. I'm very close to "hriam" addresses.
