  1. Scared Straight does not work. That was discovered in the late 70's early 80's and why should it be the responsibility of the police to teach and raise other people's children? Consequences should come from the parents not law enforcement. Secondly, if you guys are so worried about meth, you should know what the cops know, that lab production in Georgia is down 60%. Why? Meth can be bought cheaper and easier from a certain group of people who inhabit the southwest where superlabs are located. How do these drugs get here? In cars with tinted windows because meth is heat sensitive. Again not only was the McVeigh case solved through a traffic stop countless others are as well. Oh yea and moms and grandmom's can't be criminals. Give me a break!!! Another thing I hear is ranting and raving about PCSO not stopping cars, not catching buglars, etc. It appears to me damned if they do damned if they don't.

  2. This may sound crazy but when we lost my sister, one of my best friend's mom brought garbage bags, toilet paper, kleenex, and other disposeable goods for food and drinks. Having so many people in your home generates a lot of trash and not having to think about those things for a while is a great relief.

  3. While I was not at the benefit, I do know that Wade Lowman is a wonderful young man. He has exhibited a very mature and compassionate character since he was a small child. I only hope and pray that the world gets to see what a special young man Wade is. I can only imagine what good this young man will do as an adult. By the way, his parents aren't bad folks either. ;)

  4. Are these plat monies not voluntary donations???

Furthermore, if any of you feel there is SO much corruption within all facets of county government why dont you call an investigatory agency (Georgia is full of them and so is the Federal Government) to do a full scale audit. I am also sure that there are plenty of "Watchdog" organizations out there that would take up your cause, providing it is legitimate. And one final comment, If you think you can do better, DO IT!

(I may have misunderstood this whole discussion, but in my opinion I feel this is the root of all of your gripes.) Oh yea one more thing for all of your legal eagles concerned with your property value and taxes "caveat emptor."

  5. As a former probation officer, I must confess you NEVER know what goes on in someone's home. I sent a few people to prision for things such as theft, drugs, etc., only to have a child or family member disclose that some sort of sexual misconduct had taken place. These persons were later convicted or plead guilty to the sexual offenses and are serving lengthy prison sentences. However, if someone had asked me prior to the disclosure " Do you think ________ is a sexual deviant?" I would have had no choice but to say no. My point is that most sex offenders do not look like Ledford or Richard Davis (Polly Klas's killer). Most of the sex offenders who reported to my probation office appeared clean cut, never gave us (officers) any problems other than MINOR alcohol or drug violations. I feel that the goal of these sexual predators is to "fly under the radar" and to present themselves as good, religious, law abiding citizens. This appearance is one of the many "weapons" they use to gain trust and credibility in thier respective communities.

Do I think sex offenders can be cured? Honestly, absolutely not. I am a Christian and I believe that all things are possible through Jesus Christ, but sexual predators are hedionistic, selfish MONSTERS and thus, would never humble themselves to sincerley submit to any deity that might have the ability to take away their power and the satisfaction the recieve from preying on another individual.

Sorry for any speling or grammar mistakes. I hope I got my point across. Thanks

  6. Smitty, GET A LIFE!! You obviously are a chickens**t who takes the security of living in this great country and community for granted. How dare you?? I guess you think that just because you pay taxes you should recieve special treatment from the police. Well buddy, you are wrong. I have carried a badge and a gun and I personally feel that doing so is a calling and the sacrifices made are of devine inspiration. It is never about the money or choices. It is about Shakespear's line "To thine own self be true." Tara is a hero and I know that the world is a better place just because she was in it ( No, I had never met her). What have you done? ( please don't mention monetary donations to charities). I am talking blood, sweat, and tears: Standing on that firing line for the first time, EVOC, defensive tactics (so tired you do not think you can drag your arm to protect yourself), etc. I must apologize for the lack of organization in this post but I am MAD, DISGUSTED and APPALLED at the comments from a person who will never be able to fathom "the calling." By the way Smitty, I am not asking for a reply, the question is purely for you pondering. And as for why I don't work in LE now, I am attempting to enforce laws on a higher level, as a prosecutor.

  7. Former ADA's Beth Larson, Theo Serrebutra and Aaron Henrickson opened thier own practice here is Dallas. They are very familiar with family law due to all of the strings attached to criminal prosecution. Their focus now is family law and criminal defense. The number is 770-505-4404. Remember these folks put away child molesters and murders. They know how the system works and will use it to your benefit.

  8. Dr. Paul Espy, Dr. Miles Jerdan and many other great dermatologists are in practice together. I cannot remember the name of ther group but they are located behind Kennestone Hospital and Drs. Espy and Doxy have treated three generations of my family. Also Dr. Jerdan is a Mayo Clinic trained Pathologist. He diagnosed my mothers malenoma by just looking at it. This group is great!!! I also believe they have an office located at Lost Mountain just west of Boots Ward Park.

  9. I think you are incorrect about Alexander HS. I remember when it was being built and they hand only temporary bleachers for football and it was their first year of holding classes there. It was called Alexander then. But I may be wrong.I was only a kid and it was the first time Paulding County HS played them.
