  2. When is the last time a member of the BOC has held a townhall meeting with their district and invited the public to come enjoy an open forum? It seems that many of the allegations be it true or not could be clarified with this. That seems to me one of the best ways to communicate to the public what is going on in your disctrict and where you stand on the issues. I know that you can sign up to speak or ask questions at a BOC meeting, but I am talking about an informal meeting with a question and answer session. I just feel like as with any job, an employee must explain themselves to their employer if asked. Should the BOC not answer questions posed from the citizens they represent?

WOW I think your reading my mind there Mr. Seabolt! :clapping:

  3. We have two or three around here that will ride past the comet trail to go down our road because it has lots of big hills, and they will not move for anything. And the roads have lots of curves. It makes me so mad because people will pass them because they won't move over. And I am afraid someone is going to get killed. Because they just will not move and they look at you like you are doing the wrong thing.

:good: BM, I know exactly what you mean. I live off 120 & cole lake & the comet trail is right there :angry2: but no they wanna go up & down cole lake. :glare: only problem is the speeding drivers ALREADY on cole lake...wow talk about a =@

  4. hey,

I know I read somewhere that somebody takes old bikes and fixes them and donates to the needy. I have a few to give away that need some work. Where do I take these things? There has to be somebody that fixes them.

    thanks

If nothing else let me know, several years ago my two sons had been given some old bike stuff & turned around & rebulit them, repainted them & passed them on via word of mouth to several kids that didn't have one. I just mentioned your post to my oldest son & he said he would love to do this again...That boy sure knows how to make a momma feel proud! :yahoo:

  5.

I offered to call a wrecker. He agreed….. Until I told him he would need to settle with the driver on the scene. At this time he started fussing and again “demanded that I push him out or the department pay for the wrecker!!!!!!! his position was,If I call it we (the S/O) should pay for it.

 Kind of like responding to a house fire...."Well if you put water on it, you'll ruin EVERYTHING" DUH & if they don't everything will be fine? :yahoo: Sorry I know EXACTLY what you are saying!

  6. I had the pleasure of seeing my mailing tube jutting from my mailbox like a baseball bat when

I drove up from work the other day. What in the %$&* made Mr Shearin think that each of us

needed a fullsize copy of David Austin's subdivision plat jammed into our mailbox!!!!!!!!

Anybody who would mail a full-size plat of a proposed subdivision to everyone in the county

and roll it up in a cardboard mailing tube that's 4ft long raises some serious judgement issues

with me....especially his judgement as commissioner.

The attached flyer spent so much time patting Mr. Shearin on the back for NOT subsidizing a rivals

subdivision sewer system with taxpayer funds that there was no more page space for anything else.

As if NOT stealing tax payer funds was such a hard decision and in and of itself qualification to be commissioner?

If all it takes is telling a developer NO I will not build a sewer system in your development

using taxpayer money to be qualified.....then vote for me! I can stop improper usage of tax money

all day long and twice on Sunday's without breaking a sweat!

I am furious....we shouldn't elect either of the two candidates over this garbage!

I propose everyone write in someone else!!

***** :good:  :yahoo: I am SOOOOOOO in agreement with EVERYTHING you said! I can't stop laughing! OH MN THAT WAS GOOD! ok so for a "write in" idea...I say BILLY MAYES ! yup the oxiclean guy. I mean he can clean/fix anything! He can chop it, mend it, fix it, hang it, stick it, wax it, soak it, & EVEN BEdazzle it! oh wait...I might have to use him for the pres. election come to think of it, hmm wonder if he has a brother....lol

  7. Flops,

Just wanted to touch base with you & Flops2 & tell you both I am so sorry for what you had to go through. It takes a strong person to deal with something like this. As you can tell by my s/n I am a proud wife of a Paulding co. Firefighter. When he first became a ff years ago hundreds of miles from Ga. I loved to hear the cutesy type "mom giving birth" stories but as the years have worn on & so so many days like this have taken place, I try so hard NOT to hear or know about these. I hurt so badly to think of the pain & loss people have to deal with. I could myself never even think of a job like this. I myself years back watched in horror as a guy tried to commit suiside by stepping out in front of a train (in smyrna). The sad thing was the guy LIVED through it. well at leaset till they got him out of there. So I can relate to the mixed feelings you & your wife have. Please know my thoughts & prayers are with all of you as well as the young mans family.

  8. I know Dakalb has a nice site, I also went looking not to long ago & found one for Gordon County but I was shocked at the postings.... I mean these people were awful !!! I don't think there was even ONE nice posting..They bad mouth the Police, Firefighters, S.O.'s You name it...& Boy don't even think about reading what they think of their political figures in office....WOW

  9. I agree, try the Ga. Bar... I know this could help because My sister-in-law is in the same situation ! Also try Ga. Labor Board, look on their site & see Ga. law's & employee's rights. You did say You guy's had proof right? I say go all the way ! Try EVERY resource & then search for more. There are law's to protect us from employers like this. Good luck, Best wishes & May God Bless You & Yours.... I hope & pray Your mother is doing well.
