  2. I am sorry to report that Denise passed away, in her home, a couple of days ago. there were attempts to reach her Friday night and the EMS & fire folks were called. no answer and they did not enter the residence by force due to some state law, I believe. a friend of hers was finally found Saturday that had access to her home. the friend and 2 policemen entered and found her. apparently, she had some on going health issues. Denise worked many years in sales at Hardy Ford. please keep her & her family in your prayers. she was a friendly & outgoing person that left too soon. RIP :(

  3. HI - I just drove to Blairsville last week. it's about 2.15 hours drive and located almost at the N. Carolina border. I take 575 north all the way - changes names along the way but it's a straight drive. really easy highway and traffic clears out after getting north of Woodstock or so. if the weather is clear the mountains are lovely. :)

  4. thank you. I attended my parents burial, May 30th, at the US Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD. the entire experience was really amazing. they were interred in a wall facing the Potomac River with 3-gun salute, Taps & the flag ceremony. sad but uplifting, as well. I never had seen the words to Taps before. interesting story...thanks again.

  5. these are great!

See how all of the balls wind up in catcher cones. This incredible machine

was built as a collaborative effort between The Robert M. Trammell Music

Conservatory and the Sharon Wick School of Engineering at the University of

    Iowa.

Amazingly, 97% of the machines components came from John Deere Industries

and Irrigation Equipment of Bancroft , Iowa .. Right first time – Farm Equipment!

It took the team a combined 13,029 hours of set-up, alignment, calibration,

and tuning before filming this video but as you can see it was well worth

    the effort.

It is now on display in the Matthew Gerhard Alumni Hall at the University

and is already slated to be donated to the Smithsonian.

  7. thanks you all so much! I will be attending the burial of my parents, this Friday, at the US Naval Academy in Annapolis. my dad was a proud graduate of the academy, 1943, and served in WWII on aircraft carriers, it was during this time he met my Aussie mom. somehow, this week makes it a bit easier with folks remembering and acknowledging our servicemen & women. gratitude to them all. :)

  8. 1 guess :D

contrary to popular belief, "You Really Got Me" is actually a Kinks original, not Van Halen. I just went to a couple of Ray Davies shows last month, Boston & NYC. still rockin'! I refuse to grow up  :D

  9. great to hear there are others that listed Paul Revere & the Raiders as their 1st concert! I loved Mark Lindsey :p I saw them at the old Municipal Auditorium in downtown Atlanta, which was located near GA State Univ. I went to many fantastic early rock shows there...Pink Floyd, Yes, Mountain, Alice Cooper, Ted Nugent & the Amboy Dukes, Emerson/Lake & Palmer, King Crimson, NY Dolls, Black Sabbath, the Who, Aerosmiths 1st tour, on & on. Jimi Hendrix played there but I never had the chance to see him. my high school graduation was held at the Auditorium and I remember feeling the energy of all those incredible shows while standing on the stage :)

  10. thanks, very interesting. my family & friends will be attending a Catholic mass, this May at the Naval

Academy, for my Dad (Academy graduate 1943 & 25 years in the Navy, WWII) and my Mom, followed by the military burial ceremony at a wall there facing the river. it will be quite an experience, I'm sure.

  11. Hi, I was told to take it by my doctor (Kinesiologist) for upset stomach from food while I was travelling. it really helped quickly and I felt well within a day. only was to take it for 3 days. the bottle says it is good for your immune system. I've been told it is fine if taken for a few days, when needed. the folks at the Vitamin/Herb Shoppe next to Target can tell you lot's of information about it. :)

  12. Last night will be the last Halloween we decorate our house & give out candy. We had such fun getting ready, special lighting, spider webs, costumes to greet the kids, etc. Sadly, we found that 85% of the kids had NO COSTUME! nothing...not even an attempt. grocery store shopping bags & attitudes if you asked what/who they were supposed to be. We gave everyone candy that visited but will not do it again. Did we miss the memo about no costumes on Halloween? we're done. <_<
