  1. Folks:

The official 'gold party' for paulding.com is going on at Criterion Jewelers. Taking your old, broken, discarded gold-containing jewelry to them is a better way to dispose of it.

    [flash=728,90]http://www.paulding.com/ads/criterion.swf

You can take your gold for sale to them at their store.

Yes, I forgot to mention Criterion! :good: They will also take your old gold! Either way it's a great way to get a little extra cash before Christmas!

  2. explain "making money".

i get that you received money. but was it as much as you paid for the necklaces, earrings, bracelets, navel decorations?

or were these items gifts? in which case i fully support hocking it and blowing the cash.

Well most of the stuff I had was gifts from the time I was a teenager til now. I quit wearing gold jewelry when I was in my twenties and it's just been in my jewelry box collecting dust since then. I had a couple of gold chains that were broken, earrings that I didn't have a match to, bracelets that didn't fit, etc. Oh yeah, and my husbands wedding band from his 1st marriage. None of this stuff was sentimental to me so I decided to sell it. I am in real estate and my husband is an electrician and was just laid off so the money was a huge help.

There are other options too. Like Criterion in Hiram will buy your old gold stuff as well. We just decided to have a girls nite and do the party with itl. Everyone seemed happy with the results. FYI- I haven't ever sold anything in a pawn shop before. I have shopped in some but never pawned anything or sold anything to them so I am not even sure how it all works. I did get a KILLER ring from the one in Hiram a few years ago along with 2 30x30's for our boys.

  3. I was looking for somebody who could do something like this as a fund raiser. Something like 10% goes to the cause ... the rest to the individual. Make it a fun social event as well as a way for guests and the cause to get some money.

Yes, there was actually someone there who discussed this with the lady who does the parties. It's a great idea. So many people have old, broken or unmatched stuff that they will never wear and what better way to "dispose" of it! And who isn't happy to leave a party with more cash than they came with? We were definately shocked and pleased with the results. I can give you the lady's name and number if you would like....

  4. ruh roh...somebody posted this same dog on another website I belong to, she said it stayed at her house all day, guess if followed your son home!!!!

at least I think its it

Oh no! I hate that! She is on my neighbors front porch now. I really don't want to call animal control but what if her owner doesn't know about p.com?

Oh no! I hate that someone lost it! It's sitting on my neighbors front porch now. What to do? What happens if we call animal control and no one ever turns up to claim her?

  6. How many hours does it have on it?

My aunt is looking for one,

Not too many but I can't remember for sure. We have to plug it in to see and my husband hasn't hooked up the right kind of plug yet. I want to say under 100 hours but that even sounds like WAY too many. I can see if we can get it plugged up tonight or tomorrow and I can let you know for sure. Is that okay?

  7. Good Evening,

My son "found" a dog and now it's hanging around and won't go home. He say's it's a girl and it's a cute little dog but I hate to think someone is probably worried sick over her. She has a purple collar and she is still hanging around!

We live off Ridge Road near the ball park. If this is your dog, please call me to arrange a pick up!

    Thanks,

    Amanda

  8. Good Evening,

We are trying to clear up some space in our home and we have decided to sell my beloved tanning bed. :( Anyway, it's in superb condition and we have the user's manual and all the parts (nothing is broken). The bed has barely been used! Please let me know if you have any questions!

    Thanks,

    Amanda

  10. Hey folks. We had just got back from the funeral home (a friend of ours had passed away) and all was calm. Then about 15-20 mins later we heard the sirens. It was the house 3 houses up from us. No one was hurt though. It did major damage to the living room and the roof above it. It was pretty scary with the wind blowing like it was, but the good fire fighters had it under control pretty quickly. Kudos to our fire dept. here!! When I lived in Marietta in Pine Haven trailer park, the trailer 2 over from us caught fire about 3:00 in the morning, and we were still up from a gig I had played that night, and saw it. It took those guys about 20 mins to get there, and the trailer was in ashes by then, sadly with the occupant still inside. So I have the utmost respect for our fire dept. out here!!! They were here immediately after the 911 call.

I am glad everyone is okay! I guess I will have to come meet you, Subby, since we live right down the street from each other! :)
