In that case, can you give me a list of projects that Paulding County has funding over the past say 5 to 10 years, and I'll tell you if I'm happy with them or not. Thanks in advance.
You will never make ALL of the public happy about everything. There are over 140,000 people living here now and I would be willing to bet you can't get them ALL to agree that today is Friday.

What’s dumb about it? The county is spending money for fireworks while it is in a deficit! Nothing was even mentioned about Parks and Rec shutting down, but the fireworks are not being donated to the county. There is also the matter of paying employees to work the event.
So you want to live in a county that doesnt celebrate and show their pride in being part of the great United States of America....even in bad times?

From what I understand, the one at Cedarcrest is some type of development that will be a joint venture between WellStar and Johnson Ferry Baptist Church. I think that's what's on the sign that's posted on the property...
I would like to clear up one thing here. The Wellstar/Johnson Ferry Baptist Church building on Hwy 41 is not the same Wellstar building planned for Cedarcrest. These are two completely different locations.

Real Estate agents..What is the average time it is now taking to sell a house? My house has been on the market for almost a year and I have others in my sub that has been on the market longer..Still no Sale..

I have been realtor for over 7 years now. My clients are having to lower their list price at least 10% below what market value would have been 2 years ago. If they cannot afford to do that...they are sitting on the market for 6 months to a year without offers. I am just being honest with you about my experience with my listings. My team has over 100 listings mostly in Paulding and this is the same across the board in all price ranges. I have had clients change realtors thinking that would make a difference and still have the same results. If your home is in good condition then it really all comes down to price. Sorry I know thats not what anyone wants to hear. I have told many sellers if they can afford to not sell right now they should wait.

For the Nebo Road area, there was a power outage from 2:45 pm to about 7:20pm today.
The reason was due to a car running off of the road (kinda across from Princeton Subd.) and striking a power pole and tree. The power pole snapped in half and then the tree fell on top of the lines.
The odd thing is...I can't figure out why the car ran off the road. No skid marks were laid on the pavement nor was the grass tore up from the road to the pole. ???
They finished putting up the new power pole and fixed the lines around 7:20 tonight!
How do I know all of this...
I was leaving Princeton five minutes after the power went out in my house, saw the wreck, came home four hours later to my DH complaining that we still didn't have power and he was hot!
No power, no AC in the heat of the day! Our house got soooooo hot!
I live close to there and my power was off as well...but I am really curious if anyone knows if the driver is ok????

I doubt very seriously if somebody complaining about David's trailer had anything to do with it getting moved the first time. That trailer was all over the county, probably on some sort of a pre-determined route and schedule. And when it gets moved from where it is, it will be because the Austin campaign decides, not because an opponent is complaining.
See, I sorta like seeing the Austin signs up. It reminds me that there is a brighter day coming. You are only "ready to move on" because you Shearin Sheep got your butt handed to you.
70%-30% is a pretty stinging rebuke, wouldn't you say? Or, can you rationalize that, too?

I am so sorry I left the main # 1 Thursday polling place off the original list. Lets all move to the Thursday Braswell Mountain Road location, lets see if we can get a record turnout recorded.

I have had a David Austin magnet on my car for 4 months. I know the election is over but I just cant bring myself to take the magnet off.....GLOATING I GUESS!!!
I saw the people in orange on the side of the road and it made me wonder what Jerry must be doing today.....
I think I will drive to all the precincts tomorrow and encourage everyone to vote the winner in again!!

Glad to know you're going to stick around after the election. I've been on this site for 4 years, so I'm sure I'll be here when we're all complaining about the next Commission Chairman race in another 4 years.
ETA: You can't throw a stick in this part of the county without hitting someone that Shearin OR Austin is related to, making your point kind of null/void.

I really cant believe it is 2am and we just got home and here I sit on Paulding.com. But I know how hard you guys have worked to win this and I could not be more excited for you. I am honored to know you, Jaydee and Jane. I have known you for many years and I have never met a more honest man in my life. I was not at the fireworks dispay, and Rosemarie Gamel was my mother. I heard the story from my mother Rosemarie Gamel many times. I just checked with Betty Finch and was corrected that it was Boyd sr Boyd and Davids father who flipped the table. David was the one who went negative first, with lies and half truths. David ssaid he was a member of the Republican party , he joined just before quilifying for the race. he said the county was dragging it"s feeet on the resivor, the countyinitated the request for the permit in 2001 it normaly takes about 15 years if you are fast to get a permit , you canot build a dam without the permit from the federal goverment. All the reqirements for the permit have been complted, thegeograpcal surveys, the eviromenal sudies, everything the request is now waiting for thefinal approval . It should come in the next 6 months to a year. then constuction canbegain. That is not dragging your feet. A bond issue to build the airport was voted down , then the county found out they could build it with moey from the FAA, and not cost the county any money. The airport is being built to bring industry to the county.

The Austin's are doing a good job slandering their own good name, with no one's help.

Beach Bum I think you fail to see the point. It is not up to anyone to prove, as in a court of law, allegations against Jerry. Be honest. By all the comments under different titles that the citizens of paulding County don't have any faith, trust or respect for Jerry. If by a long shot Jerry wins Tuesday, NO on will ever believe him, trust him and definitely not respect him ever again. Jerry should just pack up his tent and move on to the next road show. There is one thing for sure. By Jerry's actions in the BOC meeting he himself proved he is arrogant, pompous and disrespectful of the people who placed him there.

Actually, Boyd, when you run for Mayor, it's never been about what you've done. Your name has gotten you this far, and here's hoping that after your actions and your brother's actions, that people will see fit to choose differently in the next election. Because after this election campaign, and hearing your message, I'm afraid I'd have to go with a "liar from the pit of hell, who smells like smoke (your words by the way--if I could find a little copyright button, I'd use that with your name--credit where credit is due, and whatnot)" before I'd go with you. Politics are politics, but I would have expected better from you, and I'm personally disappointed. Shame on you as an elected official for adding to this negative climate.
Oh, and "prayerful consideration"?? Careful there, Boyd--your hypocrisy is showing.
Everyone involved in *both* of these campaigns, attack ads, and mudslinging: I hope you sleep well at night, because you shouldn't.

Respectfully, I disagree. None of this has been proven to be illegal or unethical. The info contained in www.chairmanshearin.com is HIGHLY DEBATABLE and has LOTS OF DIFFERENT ASPECTS to consider. Please don't misunderstand me as I dearly love both David Austin and Jerry Shearin and I do want each of them to be treated fairly.
LAST RESPONSE TO BEACH BUM-Some people can be presented legal documents and proof and even video and still not see the truth. There is a cloud that comes over people when they know someone personally and like them. They think that because that person is a nice person to their face they could never be guilty of awful things. This is so not the case....with Shearin. If any of this information was not completely true and accurate. Someone on here alone would have done the research to prove these documents incorrect or inaccurate. That has not and will not be done because this is truthful information.

No Dallas Bigfoot - I see the point very, very clearly. It is absolutely up to the accuser to prove his point - that is the way our judicial system works in the USA. It doesn't really matter what I think of Jerry, David or anyone else for that matter. I'm just saying that you HAVE to PROVE what you are accusing people of. Once again, ANBODY can ACCUSE ANYONE at ANYTIME of ANYTHING - you just have to prove it.
By the way, I am very fond of David Austin and Jerry Shearin both and I personally think that Paulding County should be very proud to have two upstanding, wonderful individuals (who by the way, LIKE THE REST OF US, have their faults) running for Commisson Chairman of Paulding County. I am simply stating that the accusers have to PROVE what they are accusing others of (and this has nothing to do with OPINIONS, it has to do with FACTS.
I really don't understand what more proof you need. There is enough proof on www.chairmanjerryshearin.com,www.chairmanshearin.com, the youtube.com video on how he treats citizens in this county and last but not least proof is how he calls David Austin a major developer in his political pieces he has mailed out. Last I heard there were lots of people vying for teaching jobs in Paulding County so this has obviously not affected them. I'm quite sure that each and every school has an emergency plan in place for the students in the trailers - please explain in detail in you are aware otherwise.
Seriously, Beach Bum, I know who you are and aside for your comments on here at times. I have a lot of respect for you as a person. But with that said. If we all had no problem with our kids being in trailers we would all live in them. I won't tell you who I am at this point because there is no point in that. But I for one, with a disabled child in middle school and a child in elem. school I cannot stand the thought of my kid being in a trailer. First, my son that is disabled is terrified of the storms he has sensitive ears and the trailer noise is awful for him. Second, everytime I call the school to reach my son or his teacher, if they are in a trailer someone has to physically walk there to give them the message. Now maybe some schools have intercom systems in the trailers, But I know for a fact all of them do not. So hypothetically what if there was a big warning like a tornado or an escaped inmate. (Like there was the other day right next to Moses Middle School) How informed are the teachers in those trailers and how safe is my kid really if someone wanted to get into that trailer? Or how safe is my child if a tornado comes out of no where with not a lot of warning. I am sorry but I completely disagree that our children should be in trailers while our government employees will be working in a 65 million dollar courthouse to me that shows me we have our priorities in this county backwards.
