    Gene, Cathy and family,

     

    I am so sorry for your loss. I loved Mary very much and I can't remember a time when she didn't have a smile on her face. She was a very special lady and will be missed by so many. She is with her Savior and singing in Heaven's Choir.

    Has anyone read "The Shack" ?

    Finally!! Someone else of like spirit! I felt convicted to put the book down. My husband read it and wouldn't comment until I read it. I stopped after a couple of chapters, when I felt disgusted with the descriptions of God. The Bible says it is the TRUE picture of God and Jesus and the Holy Spirit.

    I know this is just fiction, but we think it is wiser to focus on truth when learning about God. That way our thinking does not become muddled with fictional ideas of an author.

    I googled reviews of it and found that interesting...also googled: hate The Shack, and that was even more interesting and enlightening and gave factual confirmation of my feelings about the book.

     

     

    Thank you so much, you said alot of what I WANTED to say. For a young Christian or someone under conviction this book could be very misleading (even if it is fiction)

     

    Now I'm off MY soapbox

    I've been given this book to read. Someone let me know what I'm in for.

     

     

    I read it and I'm sure my opinion is different than most of those you will find on here.

    It is a heavy read and shouldn't be taken in the literal sense.

     

    I couldn't accept alot of the writing and would not recommend the book, but that is my opinion.

    Typically one a day unless we've all done something (like camping) and one towel and sheet day. It use to be almost three loads a day until we got the front loading washer - you can cram some laundry in that thing.
