  1. I think the Chamber of Commerce does a great job promoting Paulding. It is sad that a dozen or so disgruntled anti-airport citizens can put such a grey cloud over this county. Sadder still is Todd, Tony, an Vernon take their orders from these idiots. So how much money is in the budget for the Chamber this year??? Take that figure and divide that number by 155,000 residents. If it is over 5 cents a person I would be shocked.

Why don't you spend time worrying about who "bought" Todd, Tony and Vernon and feeds them their opinions to further their special interest causes. Where is the money coming from??

They spend a great deal of time in the shadows. I know, I know... Todd is great, Todd is good, let us thank him for our food.... Bla, bla, bla... Pardon me while I puke...

These three morons couldn't find their way out of a closet unless the Troutman & Sanders law firm held the flashlight and guided them out.

  2. Would you be happier if they put them in the same envelope??? I don't understand the need for multiple checks but hardly understand what that has to do with wether or not expanding the airport is a good idea.

If the Commissioners had held a public meeting about this would you all embrace it??? Doubt it, so get past that. They screwed up the PR - got it. Water under the bridge. Is it a good idea to expand it or not?

  3. This group no longer wants answers. They already have them. They just don't like the answers or the facts. They held a meeting to vent and bitch. Nobody is on the take, no collusion, no secret deals, no pockets being lined (except the Paulding 6 and some of their groupies maybe). What proof do I have??? The same amount of proof this group has in reverse...

They (and Delta) don't like the project, period. So somebody has to be blamed for their lot in life. Simple as that. If you can't expand this airport as sparsely populated as it is within three miles in any direction, then you can't build one ANYWHERE.

  4. Lppt,

Yes I very much support local business here in Paulding and will do everything to help bring more and help existing business to grow and prosper.

The airport is here… that is a thing of the past. Did the people here vote it in? NO. We didn’t even have our basic infrastructure in place yet. We needed Water and roads and many other things before the airport. A well planned community is a successful community. None the less, the airport is here. At this point we have to try to get the horse back in front of the cart, figuratively speaking.

One of the many things the board of commissioners are involved in, are all the departments. This is what makes up our local government. I worked closely with all these departments for 13 years surveying and engineering. I helped some of the small town developers, I did the field work, I did the drafting, I did the plan and design, I did the court house work. When I turned in my plans, everything had to be done to the letter. Meanwhile, I watched the elitist walk right past me and get approved without even meeting the requirements. Yes, they went around the County employees and straight to our leaders. If you don’t believe me, talk to some of the residents that live in poorly built subdivisions. There is plenty…

I helped small time businesses get special use permits so they could open and run new business. I was trained to help them from start to finish, even representing them before the board of commissioners. I actually did the work for the commissioners to vote on. I’ve already been helping to bring business here.

I was involved when the county GIS were first learning GPS, and needed help. I worked with addressing, with the tax assessors. Probably the only department I am not familiar with is permitting.

Has my opponent done any of this? Does my opponent even know that the County GIS map we were currently given for Post 1 does not match the State Records?

How would I cut wasteful spending? One in particular that comes to mind would be some of these law suits against the County. The County incurred damages to someone’s property. The property owner sues for a settlement of something like $100,000 to compensate damages. The County has held this thing up in court so long, it has ended up costing the tax payers somewhere around 1.3 million dollars? Where is the logic there? Isn’t paying 100,000 for damages much cheaper than paying lawyers millions? Then in turn these lawyers pay huge campaign contributions to the commissioners that keep it going. Hum. Corruption at its best. I’m sure you know which case I’m referring to, but there are many like this one.

If anyone wants to talk to me, send me a pm and I will give you my phone number. :)

    Heidi Leggett

It is amazing to me how much you and Commissioner Pownall think alike... It's almost like you two work together.

As for the legal suit against the County. We have all heard about this ongoing issue for years. The Appeals Court from what I understand sided with the County and thought the ruling by the local judge was laughable. Sounds to me like the county have the grounds 9as well as the obligation) to stay in the case. Based on what you wrote above, if you are elected, all I have to do is bring a suit against the county and I can count on your endorsment to quickly settle for $100,000 large... Sign me up!!

  5. I voted for Heidi Leggett for Post 1 commissioner. I heard about her on here and just had the opportunity to talk with her over the phone. I have to say I'm extremely impressed with her ideas. Not only is she very educated on what real conservatism is all about. She is a real person running for the people of this county, and not a government paid junket. She explained to me how we can cut back and give more incentives to smaller businesses for real job growth, cutting back on useless programs that waist taxpayer money, in the long run the only things that turn out real growth and capital. I just have a huge problem with electing someone who has already got their hands tangled in this rats nest of a system that we so desperately need to clean up. I'm delighted to have someone like Heidi running in my own district that strikes a chord with my small government beliefs and knows the principles by which they stand.

You got all of this from Heidi??? Really??

  6. Coming at 6 o'clock on Channel 7 WXYZ News: Paulding County Commissioners at odds over boondoggle.

Channel 7 has learned that some Paulding County residents are unhappy with the way their tax money is being spent, so we sent our investigative team out to get to the bottom of it. We spoke first with County Administrator Mike Jones.

    Channel 7:
Mr. Jones is it true that the County Commissioners office sent Bill Carruth on a boondoggle to Washington on the taxpayers tab?

    Mr. Jones:
Well, I wouldn't call it a "boondoggle", exactly. We more or less sent him up there to hob-knob with all the uppity-ups up there in Washington so we could get that reservoir down here so we can go bass fishing. I don't see what all the brouhaha is all about; everybody knows that we're dumb as dirt and can't do nothing for ourselves.

    Channel 7:
Wait a minute Mr. Jones, didn't Mr. Carruth hire you as County Administrator when he was Chairmain because he was too dumb to run the county himself?

    Mr. Jones:
Yeah, but he's got a lot smarter since then, and I've got a lot dumber.

We also spoke with Post 2 Commissioner Todd Pownall:

    Channel 7:
Mr. Pownall, what do you think about this all expense paid trip that Mr. Carruth took to Washington?

    Mr. Pownall:
Well, I just don't think it was a good idea to send him up there on the taxpayers tab.

    Channel 7:
So you don't think the county should be sending private citizens on trips using county funds?

    Mr. Pownall:
I don't have a problem with sending private citizens, I just don't think that they should have sent Bill Carruth to share his expertise with Washington. I'm pretty sure that they already know how to drink liquor and chase women up there.

Commission Chairman David Austin could not be found for comment because he was hiding under Mike Jones' desk.

  7. So according to the news broadcast, Commissioner Pownall is opposed to a former Commissioner and current DNR board member making an effort to get a dependible water source for Paulding County??? What an idiot!! Clearly he dosent understand how the system works. While I would love to save the few hundred bucks in taxpayer dollars it costs for the travel expenses, I would rather the federal government pick up the multi-million dollar tab on the reservoir project. I'm guessing Todd is backing the sheetrock guy for Chairman. I guess birds of a feather... Looking forward to the debate on Tuesday.

  8. If you were there (at the local election board hearing) you know the board did more than " exspress reservations" over the information presented to it. It referred Mr. Seabolt to the state elections board and the District Atty. because it felt there was both voter fraud and criminal conduct on the part of Mr. Seabolt. If you don't believe this, ask the board members. I have.

As to your comment that you spoke to Mr. Seabolt about the accusations and he " denies flatly any charges," what did you expect someone running for office under investigation to say? " I confess.?" C'mon Pubby Where's your journalistic savvy?

If no charges had been filed as Mr. Seabolt says answer me this:

Why does he have an attorney?( as he told you)

Why was a hearing scheduled before the state election board?(as he told you)

Why did his attorney request a continuace of this hearing until after this election?( as he told you)

You may impressed by Mr. Seabolt but frankly I'm disappointed in you. He's telling you all the answers but apparently you refuse to listen. I don't think the voters of Post 1 will be so narrow minded.

  9. Let's see if I've got this right. Some of you contend Commissioner Ragsdale has been a Shearin yes man when in fact he has been endorsed by David Austin who ran on a platform of change and says Mr. Ragsdale will be very valuable to him in implementing the changes voters are obviously wanting. Also, seabolt has been charged with voter fraud by the Attorney general's office and charged with lying on a Qualifying affidavit by the local election board and some of you are uncertain who is best suited to serve our county. You gotta be kidding.
