I'm glad to see the discussion on toxic mold/mycotoxins. I appreciate someone posting my video. The agent that poisoned us is trichothecene. You can do a search, even on the CDC site..you'll see it's a DEADLY toxin produced by fungi/mold. The levels found in the home that nearly killed me and my husband were 639.11 ppb of one of the most potent trichothecenes, Roridin A. We never once saw mold..The home did develop a roof leak and the insulation was exposed when a ceiling tile gave way. There was also moisture from the kitchen floor tiles.... They also found stachybotrys, aspergillus,chaetomium, fusarium, trichoderma, cladosporium, rhizophus, mucor, penicillum, yeast and many other dangerous molds.
Medical Care..that's a sad story. It's nearly impossible to find treatment. You'll see on the video above, the hospital ABC tried to interview stated there is no such thing as toxic mold. We hoped they would warn the public; instead they downplayed it all into a possible allergy. Yet, this same hospital gets mega million dollar grants to study and train physicians about agents of biowarfare. Trichothecene is sometimes called Yellow Rain, reported to have killed 1000's. In fact, as I waited in the conference room of this hospital after we finally got diagnosed, a few months prior to the TV segment, their Dr. told me he knew all trichothecenes and also fungal illness. I even looked at a book they had on the shelf (while I was waiting to talk to this Dr. about their research)..there was an entire chapter on Yellow Rain..A deadly toxin produced by fungi... Something does not add up. How do you get grants to study a mycotoxin and then your hospital tell the American public it doesn't exist? Go look up trichothecene. You'll see..
Insurance companies? What a disgrace. You don't have to hold a gun in your hand to kill someone. There is no doubt as to all this taking place in this home. They (Grange in our case) concealed reports, instead sending inaccurate and misleading summaries, stating we have no right to the actual report. It happens all the time. I hear it day after day. Those who are injured are never meant to see the real findings. Had God not intervened, we would have never seen the true results. And the stachybotrys and trichothecene we had to find oursleves, as they did not even check the insulation, despite me telling them how wet and toxic it was and they saw my photos of burns... A child is living in the toxic home now, with deadly amounts of a known toxic agent. Can a home be condemned for a toxic agent like this (as if the molds found weren't enough).. NO! Everyone says they have no authority. The insurance company, Grange, let us go without medical care, lose our posssessions and be forced into homlessness for 10 months. Now a little girl is living in this environment. I can't get her out of my mind; she doesn't even know what she's being exposed to. The landlord, parents, nor insurance company seems to care.
I didn't know what a "sickbuilding" even was. Believe me, I know now. I had to educate myself. I thank God I got enough treatment out of state to get me this far.
I was immunocompromised from a prior surgery and health problems. My husband had hardly even visited a Dr. until this house made him sick. We did nothing to deserve this.
I had no idea insurance companies, physicians and agencies designed to protect us.. DON'T. I would not have believed all this a few years ago. Every day I get calls from people all over the USA who are so sick; they don;'t know where to turn or what to do. I can't stand to see this continue. I really can feel their pain and when there is a child suffering, it truly breaks my heart and angers me that no one seems to care.
Be it our homes, schools, workplace; Katrina victims; Army hospitals...Mold-related illnesses are stealing hopes, dreams and very lives.
In our case we had pathology show clear poisoning of tissues, organs, cells... And blood work showed not just the antibodies to molds and the toxins they produce..but a test called polymerase chain reaction detected the DNA of 2 molds (stachbotrys and aspergillus) had diffused from lungs into our bloodstream. It's a systemic infection.
Unless you are VERY sick, I cannot imagine it showing up in your blood cells. The exposure or antibodies might..but a pcr proves molds are actually growing in your white blood cells. Immune dysfuntion, organs are scarred (burned by the toxins) , severe neurological injury, PAIN in all tissues, involuntary cramping of muscles, blood coming from my eyes, headaches, blisters..it was horrible and Drs. just sent me away.. Homeless for 10 months, we did what we had to do to survive. When it's life or death, you do what you have to do. If it were a housefire, there would be assistance. If we had cancer or another illness, we could get treated. Victims of mold often have nowhere to turn.
I deal with a lot of pain and we're also trying to rebuild our life all over again. But I don't want anyone out there to take the toxic mold issue lightly. It's serious! And how sick you can get depends on many things. Genetics play a part in it. So does your immune system. The type of molds/mycotoxins, amount and length of exposure..all that matters.
But you do not have to be immunocompromised to be affected. Photos on my website show the burns. It was like a human gas chamber. Forgive any typos and I'm sorry if I lose my train of thought. It's the effects of the illness. I'm trying very hard to prevent others from ever going through this. My website has photos and a lot of info. God bless.
