  1. I have a neighbor who has a lot of junk in his yard and keep adding to it. I am so sick and tired of looking at it. I live on a beautiful street and hate to see crap like that. I think one of the other neighbors has tried talking to him but didn't get anywhere. The man wouldn't even talk to him. What can we do about it?

  2. Hey I am just keeping the posting "honest". So, its okay to make "fun" of some but not all, huh??? Well, I see how everyone plays on here..... You give punches, but can't take em' huh?

Why don't ALL of you consider hurting ALL candidates feelings instead of the select one that ALL of you are for? OR better yet why don't everyone grow up act like adults and quite this bashing. Once it's all voted on and said and done, we ALL have to live in this county together. It's going to be pretty sad how some can look others in the eye.

I think this forum has become ridiculous being used the way it has been used through this political season. Everyone should be ashamed of themselves.

    Okay, thats my opinion. :good:

P.S. "Opinions are like a$$holes, everyone has one."

Tahoe you have a lot of room to talk. You have also been talking bad about people on here. So it looks to me that you are talking about your self also. So it would just be best if you kept you mouth shut.

  3. She was certainly trying to embarass her and it backfired. Everyone I talked to (that didn't have a Kim Cobb shirt on at the debate) thought it wasn't in her favor. Paulette was making a point about the GPS system the school system installed to improve safety. The fact that it was taken off-line for parents to view isn't a lie. I have been told that Kim is a bus driver so of course she would know this. She isn't telling anyone she is a bus driver though.

Why hasn't anyone pointed out the blatent lies Kim told? She said the school system isn't a member of the GSBA, that is a lie. She said the graduation rates for Paulding are around 58 or 60%, that is a lie. I work in the school system so I know that both of these things aren't true.

Paulette talked about how they have spent the money in the school system wisely. Many people on this website supporting Kim want a board change because they are upset about their taxes being too high. Kim said she wants to spend whatever we have to spend on students. That kind of thinking will send your taxes through the roof!

I went with an open mind to hear both sides and Paulette got my vote. I know and like Paulette, but I was open to hearing what both candidates had to say.

Perhaps every school system in Georgia is a "member". Paulding County is not, however, in compliance or certified with GSBA's "Standards for Local Boards of Education". That is easily found on the GSBA.com website. I have to wonder what on the compliance check list has not been done. Maybe our board members, incumbent or otherwise, need to volunteer their own time and be willing to work outside of just the board meeting times to achieve certification. It appears to me that Theresa and Kim are already doing just that and they are not board members yet!

I am going to look in to the low graduation rate of which Cobb spoke. I too believe I saw that somewhere recently. I think it was for students entering 9th grade and not completing as opposed to students that are already seniors.

I admire anyone willing to participate in a public debate such as the debate last night and last week. With only a minute and a half to answer, there is probably much more to each of their responses than what we heard.

It was disappointing not to hear from the other school board candidates. I went to the debate with an open mind and came out knowing that I will vote for Kim Cobb and Theresa Phillips. I have not yet decided on Post 7-the "at large" post. The greatest thing in this voting process, is that we can vote for post 3 even when we live in the post 1 area and vice versa.

J K Rogers...He is what this county needs. What great experience and leadership he brings.

  4. So did Hiram. I work for Home Depot and had the opportunity to help with the build for Hiram.

It was done during the week, so the kids got to watch it being built. They were so cute. They brought individual classes out at different times of the day. They would do cheers for us or sing songs. They also made thank you cards which we received at the end of the build.

If you ever get a chance to participate, please do. It is a day you will never forget! Just try not to be put on mulch duty :p

I hear yea about the mulch duty. i was lucky not to have to do that.

I would love to be involved w/ it again if it is around here.
