  1. To Whom it May Concern:

On Thursday, February 21st, from 6:00PM to 9:00PM, Girl Scout Troop #6312 will be performing a “Girl Scouts across the Generations” fashion show for the residents at Creekside Pines Senior Living Community in Dallas, Georgia.

Twenty local Girl Scouts ranging from ages 7 to 14 will wear authentic uniforms dating back to 1918 to the present. Great Atlanta Girl Scout Council of Mableton, Georgia provides all the uniforms.

Miss Jenna Groom, a 6th Grader from Austin Middle School and Girl Scout Cadette has been chosen as the Masters of Ceremony for this year's World Thinking Day event on Saturday, February 23rd. Miss Groom will be interviewing several ladies that were Girl Scouts of the past. One such interview will be with Mrs. Sue Belden, a Girl Scout Mariner from the 1940's. These interviews will be shown at the “Girl Scouts across the Generations” event.

The highlight of the ceremony at Creekside will be the Girl Scout Lifetime Achievement Award presented to Mrs. Athaleen Garner of Cedar Bluff, Alabama. She was a former resident of Creekside Pines. Mrs. Garner was the first troop leader in Paulding County over sixty years ago. The Garner family will be there for the presentation of this award.

We have an interview set for a GS from the 40's! She was a marineer. Sea Scout!!

We will be presenting an award to the first troop leader of Paulding County at our event.

So we need to set up an interview from someone from the 50-60's!!

    This program will be fantastic!

  3. Shucks - I started in 1975 and am a very limited group of girls known as Pixies. They were only in existence for two years and years later were reincarnated as the Daisies.. :)! I'm a life member of Girl Scouts (got it as a high school graduation gift) and am also a Boy Scout leader.

    That's pretty cool!

Thank you all! Keep em coming!

Just to remind everyone interested in a Mother's Morning Out for 4 year olds or Private Pre-K Program come out tonight from 5:00PM to 7:00PM. I'll have all the answers you will need to questions and concerns.

BellaG Studio is offering a Pre-Kindergarten Program from 9-12, Monday through Thursday starting in September.

What makes my program unique is there is a heavy concentration in Music. By the end of the school year, the goal is that they are completely prepared for Kindergarten and they can read music.

Although this program is out of my home, my program takes place within a classroom, playroom and piano studio all built specifically for this program.

It is a unique program and those who choose to have their child participate will be in for a unique and blessed experience!

    See you tonight! Julie

Had a good turnout. Thanks for all of you who came to speak with me. I'll have another open house tomorrow afternoon from 2:00-4:00PM. Visit My Website

  7. I went with a couple of friends Saturday, and it was good, but I think the tickets are overpriced. My major disappointment was that King Tut is not there, and neither is his famous Mask. The exhibit of tut is just some of his stuff they found in the room, and most of it isn't even the really famous relics. There are some nice exhibits from some other periods, but overall it seemed to let me down. However, as a former art history major it was very nice to see it in person. But the exhibit at the Michael Carlos Museum at Emory was much better to me.

Exactly! It was a good exhibit, but it was just a big build up to the end of the exhibit, I thought we would actually see King Tut, but he was a no show. Michael Carlos Museum is AWESOME!

  8. That was amazing race. He was next to last place and came all the way up and took a big lead. Love to see the unkowns win....

I was hoping for #12 General Quarters, but I absolutely loved the race!!!

  9. I need to get rid of a great amount of stuff! I'm cleaning out my basement and I've already given to the Kidney Foundation twice this year. If you are interested, come and get it!
