  1. I voted, as always. My son voted for the first time last night and was very proud of himself! I was proud of him, too. They let me go to the booth with him to show him what to do in order to vote and it was all I could do to keep my mouth shut about some of his selections. But I did and then went and voted for who I wanted in office.

  2. My mom was 2,000% Italian. She made her cheese using 1 large carton of ricotta cheese, 1 egg, parmesan cheese, garlic powder (or garlic salt), Italian seasoning. She didn't measure anything, she just threw everything in and mixed it. Layer it with browned Italian sausage that was cooked with onion (drained) and sauce (whichever kind you use from a can or jar) that you've mixed together. A layer of noodles (already boiled and drained), spread some cheese mixture and then the sausage/sauce mixture. A layer of Mozzerella cheese. Repeat your layers, ending with Mozzerella cheese. Cover with foil and bake about 45 min. to an hour at 350. Last 15-20 minutes or so, remove foil and let cheese get bubbly and slightly browned. Remove from oven and let it sit for about 15 minutes before you cut it (so it won't be runny).

  3. I need really cheap recipes to make this week. I need to try to buy the weeks meals for around 20.00. So far I have a recipe dbf's mom used to cook which is just cut up hot dogs and potato slices cooked together with seasonings. Any more suggestions?!

My mom's family was famous for making these. They called them "dickey D's" for some unknown reason. They cooked them with onion, green pepper and chili powder. They weren't too bad, either! Cracked me up to see that another family does "dickey D's"!!

  4. We cook pork ribs in apple juice and a can of beer in the oven for 1-1/2 hours. Then smother them in BBQ sauce (sauce of your choice) and put them on the grill. This works great if you go camping - you can cook them ahead of time and then put the ribs and the sacue in a container (zip-loc baggie or bowl with a lid) and keep them cold until you can put them over a fire to heat. Really, really good. Never tried this with beef ribs though........................

  5. I know from experience that some common migraine triggers are peanuts, chocolate, bananas and artificial sweeteners. I get menses (sp?) migraines and they are a b@$%*. Sometimes I puke, sometimes I don't. But lying down in a dark, quiet room helps. I take phenergen (sp?), an anti-nausea med, and that sometimes knocks the headache out, too.

I wish you luck with yours. Headaches suck bad!
