  8. Animal,

This is the best entertainment value in this county! This rodeo is a must attend event. The food there reminds of the Flintstones, because, the food is that big, good....and affordable.

    Sincerely,

  9. Well, I am certainly on the fence with the whole thing. But I have to say, JK, I am a little disappointed with your last post - it smacks of extraordinary arrogance. I have met Jim Higgins and he has A LOT more going for him than a good golf score and the fact that he spends time coaching with his kids teams is a *plus* for me. The only thing he doesn't have is the smooth politician rap and a knack for the mudslinging - again, a *plus* for me. Like I said, I haven't totally made up my mind, but your last comments about your opponents haven't won me over any.

    Crazy4boys,

I have met Jim and the day that we spoke he told me about his kids winning a soccer game. I congratulated him on the victory. Like I said in my post I had a feeling that he was a good soccer coach. I also met some of his friends and we joked about playing golf. I would be interested in playing golf with them one day. If they take me up on the offer I am sure that we won't be setting any kind of golfing records, but, I am sure that we would have a great time. I was not trying to win you over. I was just saying that I enjoyed speaking with Jim and his friends and in addition speaking with Gary. Jim's friends are the type that like to have fun and mine are, as well. If me saying that I enjoyed speaking with Gary and Jim is arrogant then I guess I must be one arrogant guy, because, I liked them both.

    Sincerely,

    jk

  10. Hello all,

I have really enjoyed getting out and about meeting everyone. I have seen some strong statements in support of this candidate or that candidate. I have met every candidate. Gary may not have his cat like reflexes like he did when he was 20 something, but, maybe one day I can play some softball with him. Jim seems to be an accomplished "futball" (soccer) coach and his buddies like golf. If I play soccer with him I will have to be a goalie. As far as his buddies, maybe one day we can put some serious divets in a golf course.

Listen, I don't want to fight with anyone. Check us out and compare us with other candidates. I feel confident that you will really like what we can do for you and your family.

  11. Madea,

No arrogance intended. As I said in my posts I wish him the best. I am responding to what Nitro posted about Gary not having a job if he ran. It appears to me that I have not said anything negative about Gary. In fact I have said positive things about him. How is speaking positively about a potential competitor arrogant?

    Sincerely,

    jk

Maybe it's just me, but in a thread titled Gary Gulledge for sheriff, I find this statement a bit arrogant, Mr. Rogers.

  12. Nitro,

Your statement is exactly what I am speaking of. He is in a difficult situation. My point is that he has some difficult decisions to make and this is probably a very stressful time for him. Personally, I would be VERY interested in speaking with him about becoming a SME on my team. Before anyone leaps to ANY conclusion. Gary is LOYAL to the current Sheriff, I have EVERY reason to be believe that he will CONTINUE to be and we HAVE NOT had any discussion about him coming onto my team. Our conversation last weekend was at a Republican party meeting that we both happened to attend, along with many other candidates and was a friendly conversation about subjects ranging from tow trucks, a mutual friend that is at another agency and various non-related law enforcement subjects.

    Sincerely,

Well, since he can't be employed by the county and be involved in campaigning,

either for someone else or himself, he would have to quit his job at the SO

prior to announcing his candidacy. So, how can he be fired from a job he doesn't have?

  13. Hello all,

I hope that everyone is doing well and that everyone is safe after this weeks storms.

I don't know Gary and Johnny that well, but, I spoke with them this past weekend and I had a great, positive, conversation with both of them.

I want to say something about Gary. If he did not want to be Sheriff I would wonder why. I think that it is only natural for him to consider running. I hope that you can put yourself in his position. If he does not run for Sheriff it is possible that he can be fired when a new Sheriff is elected. If he does run and loses he can be fired, as well.

He has to be concerned with what could occur at the PCSO in the future. If I am fortunate enough to be elected as your next Sheriff I would talk with him about being a (SME) subject matter expert. This would allow him to maximize his talents and concentrate on K9 and leadership activities. The opportunities for him to excel would increase.

Whatever course of action he chooses I wish him the best.

As far as my efforts to be your next Sheriff I hope that you come out and hear what we want to do for you. I think that you will really like our plan. Don't forget we meet at Ryan's on HWY 278 Tuesdays starting at 6 pm and Beef O'Brady's at Cedarcrest road on Thursday nights at 6 pm. I will stay as late as I need to in order to answer any questions, issues or concerns that you might have.

C Mark Willis, PUBBY and everyone else that attended,

I wish that I could have been there. Tuesday nights we are at Ryans speaking with people about how we are going to make things better in Paulding. I had some friends that went and they told me they had a blast. Hopefully, I can make the next event that Pubby puts on.

  16. Hello all,

Thank you for the kind words everyone. I want to let everyone know that we would love to have you stop by on Tuesdays at Ryans starting at 6 and we will stay as long as you have questions, concerns or issues to talk about.

Tomorrow night we will be at Beef O' Brady's on Cedarcrest road near the entrance of Seven Hills starting at 6. Again, we will stay as long as the owner, Reed, will allow us to in order to see what is on your mind.

If you live in Paulding or you don't...if you vote or if you don't...it does not matter, we would love to have you come by and get to know some good folks. Communication is what is truly important!

Let me tell you Soulosoul has alot of management knowledge and it was great to bounce some ideas off of you soulosoul.

WalkingTall...thanks again for the kind words. I won't let you down. I know that you don't live in Paulding anymore, but, definitely come by and hang out with us. It is always good seeing you.

Clewis...It was alot of fun speaking with you and your family at our last meet and greet at Ryans. You are a great motivated team and I would like to have you come by again. Congratulations on the new addition!

For those that can't make it on Tuesday or Thursday please let us know and we will do our best to schedule something else on another date, time or location that is convenient for you. We are out and about on days other than Tuesday and Thursday ;)

  18. AirborneMom,

I am so sorry to hear about you and your families loss.

The U.S. Army will assign to your family a (CAO) Casualty Assistance Officer. That Soldier will drop all duties assigned to him or her and specifically handle all benefit and entitlement issues that the family will have. The CAO's number one priority is to take care of the Soldier's family. I will PM you some of the details. Again, I am truly sorry for the loss of such a great person.

    Sincerely,

  19. QTEE,

I have been real busy and have not had a chance to read all of the things that have been going on today. For anyone to criticize a stay at home Mom means that they are extremely confused and ignorant.

I happen to know QTEE and I can pretty easily say that she does more work than the vast majority of people that I know that go to a job outside of the house. I just want to ask a quick question...can anyone think of anything more important than raising, teaching and mentoring kids?

If there is anything more important it escapes my mind at the current time.

    Sincerely,
