I am currently looking for a way to make extra money this summer. I have a part time job right now as a server and I am not able to get many hours. I am 17, have reliable transportation, can work monday - friday during the day. I cannot work weekends because of my other job.
I am going to college in the fall to study nursing, and need to save up money for school.
If you need a babysitter, I am CPR/First Aid certified for infant, child and adult. I have worked with kids before and have coached young girls softball for 4 years now. I have references if needed.
Any other odd jobs I would be willing to do as well.

Im a 17 year old female looking for ways to earn money. I am currently a waitress, and before my current job was a scorekeeper for softball games. Im available monday - thursday after 6pm and saturday and sunday after 4pm until 11pm. Im trying to save money for a car, and im not making much at my current job. Im almost breaking even with gas costs...I will be attending kennesaw state university in the fall of 08 to start on my bachelors in nursing.

There is a poem floating around East Paulding written by a Freshman girl. Im not sure of her last name, but her first name is Kelsey. Supposedly this will be read at the funeral.
"Dillon, Oh Dillon, why did you go?
We were your friends. Didn't you know?
We talked and laughed, yelled and cried.
But I had no idea that you would die.
We didn't talk a lot, but you were still my friend.
But only God knew it was the end.

i jus got back from the crash site...
im so going to miss that boy!!! He was one of the sweetest guys ever....he sat in front of me in one class...and today, it just wasn't right. Gina sat next to me in another class, and it felt so weird....
Once anyone hears any plans for funeral arrangements, memorial services or anything -- please post!!

currently im listening to the scanner, and they just check registration on 4 guns, 1 shotgun, and a glock.

just to let all you parents know.. i just left school early. there are tons of students absent today, and many more are leaving early. i heard that they are still planning to do the "gun fight" at 12. while at school, i was soo scared. any knock on a door, or door opening freaked me out. some people are making just a big joke out of this. but there are about 2 cops on each hallway, and the administrators are watching everything closely. i hope everything goes safe for the rest of the day. i just couldn't stay there freaking out all day. i didn't feel as safe as i would at my own home.
That's the first time i've heard anything about "Gunfight at 12"

Ok...so I keep hearing this from people, and im sure if im gonna believe it...
But has anyone heard about the school being put on lockdown? And parents having to call ahead and tell what time they will be there to pick their kid up so they know exactly who is entering and exiting the building?

No. Not every time. Otherwords, no one would ever go to school. Fights and highschool kinda go hand in hand, it's gonna happen. It's just a fact.
Sure, it would have been nice if something was said, because this has been circulating all through EP for the past week, as well as other Paulding co. highschools. It would have been nice for them to make a statement or something since this "rumor" has been built up soo big!
I just talked to someone who said the attendance office has ran out of sign out sheets because so many people are checking out.
People are right, if this was a small fight between 2 students..wouldn't they deal with those 2 and be done with it. But if those 2 are involved in gangs...then it becomes a whole different story. Because from my understanding, if one person in a gang is in a fight, i think the rest of that gang is going to come in and back them up -- am I right?

ISS is a joke. So is OSS, Saturday School and Detention. It's all a big joke. I mean ISS - you work around the school, and sit there in a chair at lunch and still can talk to everybody..so it's not big deal. And if anything, it seems nice because you can do your work without the teacher lecturing and teaching.
OSS - welp, that means no school, and to friends, it makes them think they are cool because o snap - I got suspended.
Saturday School - never enforced...I'll be honest, I was supposed to have saturday school back in october for tardies...i never showed up...and nothing was said about it.
Detention...same thing...doesn't effect people.
What amazes me...how: conveinently, all of the african americans and latinos got their lockers together on the 500...

What I think will help...
Is that the admin will get off of their butts and do something. It's a joke when a teacher or admin says they are going to write someone up. I was walking through the 500 hall last Friday I believe it was, and it blew me away that there were two guys standing there yelling and arguing, and a teacher looked at them, said nothing, and instead focused on the hole in my jeans!! Another day last week Mr. Plunkett was standing in the 500 and told some kid he would write him up. The boy said "Aww come on now ain't no one gettin wrote up in here"...and the way i've been raised, that's disrespect, and you usually would get wrote up for something like that.
They claim that if the dress code is tighter that our attitudes will be better. Well, Im smart enough to know that you can take a insubordinate person and dress them in baggy clothes and chains hanging everywhere, and then dress them up in a business suit, and the attitude doesn't change.
Dress code isn't the big issue...there is more that needs to be fixed before that even becomes an issue.

I know its a Latino gang and all, but why do we need to focus on the language barrier??
A gang is a gang...and they come in all races, Black, White, Brown, Blue, Yellow, Green and whatever else!
The point is, rumor or not this isn't something that should be taken so lightly. If we were to ignore the situation, and just brush over it, that could be the day they decide to pull out a gun. Admin says they are working on the issue, but answer this for me, how obvious will a plain clothed cop be in that school?? I mean as students we are in that school 5 days a week for 180 days. We know who people are that are there and aren't...plain clothed cops are gonna stick out, especially since this issue has been brought to attention...
we don't need to be so racist and focus in on one race because of this one gang...
look at the broad spectrum of things, there was a possible threat...so you react how you best see fit, but don't need to attack races.
I know many Latino's that go to school and work harder than any American so they can do well in life...but there are white kids that are the same way...in every race or gender there are slackers, and there are hard workers....

My son did not go to school today. I am playing it safe than sorry. He received several phone calls and im's regarding this. The kids are scared! I just wonder about tomorrow or the next day. Maybe this will wake the faculty up and they can take control of the situation.
Im a sophmore there, and I've been thinking about that. What about tomorrow? Huh? All these 'undercover' cops are gonna be gone, and it'll just be Fitz left. And honestly, Fitz is a bum, he jokes around with people so much.
I had planned on going to school this morning, but my Mom wanted me to stay home just to be safe.
Earlier someone posted saying that their son said the only reason that the 500 hall is so crowded is that the school store is in there. So explain this to me, how come that hall is still packed with Latinos and African Americans when the store is closed 6th period. Huh? That whole intersection by the 500 and 600 hall gets so jam packed that I've learned to: Find a big football player, get right behind them, and trail them til you get where you need to go.
Im so hope nothing happens today. I hope this was all a big misunderstanding and a rumor that got blown up. But I would rather miss some school and work than go and something happen.

so everybody talks about "the hall"
welp...im a student at EP. The "hall" or the 500 hall is crazy. Not to be racist, but Latin Americans and African Americans pack the hall way to tightly, it is tough to get down. My locker is down there, and I also use that hall alot because it is very convienent for me to get to trailer classes and stuff. The will stand in the middle of the hall talking, and if you say excuse me or try to get around them, they look right through you. The administrators do absolutely nothing about this. They might stand there for a while and stare, and threaten to write someone up, but trust me, it never happens!
My parents are making me go to school tomorrow, and here is how I see it. Im Christian, God has a plan for me, as well as everybody else in this world. If something is to happen tomorrow, it happens for a reason. I pray to God nothing does, but He has this situation in his hands.
So tomorrow, I plan on going to school just like every other day, and I plan to walk down the 500 hall, just like a normal day.
