  1. Does anyone know if the highway 61 is clear from Narroway Church (old Bar B Que and car wash place) to Dabbs Bridge/Harmony Grove? I live by Narroway church and have not been out since Thursday night, but will be leaving (okay attempting) in a few hours. Thanks for any infor

  2. I completely agree with you Bunny !

Elijah was a man just like us, He prayed earnestly that it would not rain and it did not rain on the land for three and a half years. Again he prayed, and the Heavens gave rain, and the earth produced it's crops. James 5:17-18

    No luck involved, just prayer

  3. Don't be surprised if the look of the site changes here shortly. I am changing the skin used for the site to limit the number of ads shown as the adserver is the key holdup. By dropping the number of ads delivered, this should let the adserver catch up.

I will be limiting the number of skins available for use and changing the default. When things return to normal, we'll reinstitute the other skins.

Pubby, I have no idea what you just said, it looked kind of like bluh bluh bluh to my dumb computer mind, but whatever you have to do including rubbing dirt on it that will help speed things up is apprecaited. Thanks for being our life line to the outside world. Bunny

  4. For all of us who are safe, dry and free of damage I would like to ask that everyone begin to pray for the rain to end. I am stranded in my home, but am blessed to have no damage. I would like to encourage all you prayer warriors to pray for those with damage, but also begin to Pray that God would stop the rain. God does not go by what is on the radar, he does not listen to the weathermen. Lets all pray that God will prove the weathermen wrong with their prediction of more rain. In His Grip, Bunny

  5. Bunny, I'm sure it was.

these days I live for stories like this. It has been a hard year and harder the last few months. But I know that God is still in the miracle business and I am waiting for mine.

    God bless you this Christmas

  6. My father passed away October 24, 2004. He new he was dying(cancer). He even told us the day it would happen.

Before he was sick, I took care of him. I was his office manager, his next-door neighbor, his right-hand man. And he was good to me. He paid me very well and I was a bit spoilt. We were always there for each other.

Every Christmas he took me to Sam's and spent $3000 for groceries and gifts for me and the kids. The year he passed away, those kind of things were the last things on my mind, but two weeks before Christmas I received a check in the mail. It was a refund check for $2,000 that was due to him, but he had it put in my name and sent to me. I just couldn't believe it.

Well every year something like that happens. One way or another, I receive a surprise anonymous gift, or some stroke of luck. Well this week I got my gift. I won't give exact details, but I just got a surprise refund/credit of several hundred dollars. You know what......I know it was him. ^_^ He still takes care of me. :D

    Miss you, Daddy! Merry Christmas!

My dad died last year after a long illness with cancer. My mom had worried and prayed for over a year that their house in Alabama would sell. She could not stand it being empty and cried everytime she returned to the house. The day it finally closed.....would have been their 55th anniversary....

I know it was my dad's last anniversary gift to her.

    > 'Hello, is this the Sheriff's Office?'

    >

    > 'Yes What can I do for you?'

    > 'I'm calling to report 'bout my neighbor Virgil

    Smith....He's hidin'

    > marijuana inside his firewood! Don't quite know how he gets it inside

    > them logs , but he's hidin' it there.'

    > 'Thank you very much for the call, sir.'

    >

    > The next day, the Sheriff's Deputies descend on Virgil's house.

    They

    > search the shed where the firewood is kept. Using axes, they bust open

    > every piece of wood, but; find no marijuana. They sneer at Virgil and

    > leave.

    >

    > Shortly, the phone rings at Virgil's house.

    > 'Hey, Virgil! This here's Floyd....Did the Sheriff come?'

    > 'Yeah!'

    > 'Did they chop your firewood?'

    >

    > 'Yep!'

    > 'Happy Birthday, buddy!'

  8. I was reading NYgirls post asking for prayers for her sister.

And it occurred to me that maybe I should ask for my dad.

I am sitting here waiting for a call from my sister about my dad.

He is having an intestinal bleed and his hematicrit is dangerously low.

They are waiting on a room to admit him for scopes on both ends.

He is having panic attacks, and has been talking about me all week.

I know this is his way of letting others know he wishes I was there.

He would never ask outright, he feels guilty that I have to leave my family.

I think the test will show a form of ibs, he will need meds, and a tranfusion.

He is afraid of the test, and his anxiety is through the roof.

I am the only one that makes him feel safe when he gets like this.

They will be doing the test or they will be done by the time I get there, so I can do nothing to calm him at this point.

If it is something worse, then he will need me and I will leave immediately, he will feel better the moment he knows I am coming.

Please just a little prayer for him to have some peace with this, and for a good outcome.

You and your dad will be covered in prayer. If you have to leave. Be safe!

  9. Please remember Shannon today. She is having her 6th, and MAYBE final, chemo treatment today. If everyone could please pray for her, I am sure God will hear us all loud and clear.

My greatest and only wish is that she be cured of cancer.

    Thank you so much!

    TARA

She will be covered in prayer. Trust in the Lord and know he is with her.

  10. I would convert to a .pdf first, this way you can lock down the format and be assured that others will see it the way you intend.

It is an old windows 2003.

Know of anyone who could help to redo/fix/reword it?

  11. I suck at doing a resume. I have most of the information I have done on Windows Vista. For some reason every time I try to upload it online the margins all mess up.

    Mine needs help bad.

    Any suggestions?

  12. I can see why he is soon to be your ex, bunny!

There is no comfort in puting up with such sulkiness all your life. How long have you had to go through this, severely less than delightful, situation?

The only thing worse than what you've been puting up with is to put up with it for one more day. Get rid of such annoyance from your life. Life is just to short for wasting it in such a frustrating marriage as you have with this person.

I put up with it WAY too long. 35 years....Took catching him cheating to wake me up. She can have him.

  13. Thank you, *~AJ~*, for hitting the nail right on the head. This sort of behavior is easy to spot, when you are *~AJ~*, but some people will never get it.

You just said it all, when you showed how children grows up to be controling adults. If a person pouts (child or adult) when you don't comply to what they are wanting from you, and you give in to their pouting: bingo, payoff for pouting. They know how to treat you in order to get their way.

Sometimes the payoff is much less apparent. Sometimes we cheat ourselves by not requiring people to pull their own weight, thus allowing them to get by with lazy performance or poor-quality performance. These kind of people will get something started, and then will want to quit after they get their satisfaction. They couldn't care less whether you are satisfied or not.

In some situations they get to coast, while you are constantly covering for their inadequacies, or shouldering a mental, emotional, or financial load that is more than reasonable.

OMG! My soon to be ex would pout every time he did not get his way. He would go weeks without speaking to me. Got to the point he would pout even when my opinion was different! Maybe he did this as a child.

  14. Nope..It's nothing but Foreclosures..I've had my house on the market since Aug 07..I'm just going to rent it for the next few years till I can at least get back what I paid for it. If you don't have to sell right now don't...You will lose so much money..

I saw on the news 4.5..And DH told me that we can refinance for less than 5% once again...I hope the rate stays that same since now I gotta wait 6 months to do it...

I wish I did not have too, but am going through an ugly divorce. I have no choice. Just praying I can make SOMETHING on it.

  15. Some what! What I have seen is that the banks are absolutely killing the current homeowners who want or need to sell their homes. The banks are selling foreclosed homes for considerably less than you can actually build the same house for!

With that being said, there is some positive news about home sales, so hopefully we will see these foreclosed homes come out of the market and resale and new home sales will once again be in the fore front of home sales!!

Check out my post about Christmas Coming Early...rates are really dropping, for new contracts...not refinancing!

Good luck to you. I hope you will sell your home quickly. If you need the names of a few great agents, pm me and I'll give them to you! There are several good ones out there...including many on this board. Just make sure who ever you hire is a REALTOR!! Trust me when I say that is VERY important!!

    Happy Holidays!

    Wendy

I would love the names of some local realtors. I need to get several estimates on what it might sell for. Thanks
