  1. This is Ryan's Aunt Sandy again...Yesterday when we arrived home from burying my nephew the family gathered together at my home for dinner. Let me just tell you about how unsympathetic and unpatriotic my neighbors in Riverwood subdivision are...I had spoken to the neighbors and explained that there were going to be alot of cars in our cul-de-sac Tuesday and told them the reason...seemed very understanding at the time. But as the street started to fill the nasty comments began. Two of the cousins were walking toward the house from getting out of their car and one of my neighbors started telling them to move their car or he was going to hit it and that it would not be his fault. Then he asked my daughter what's up with the party? Ryan's mother was also walking to the house and heard the nasty remarks. Just what she did not need after burying her son for that persons freedom! Before you ask...yes this is one of the ones I spoke too about the cars the day before! One of the cousins that road w/ the Patriot Guard to the cemetery said we should get them to ride through our street and show our neighbors how to be supportive! Sounded good to me!

It got so ugly that I had to call the police and I let them handle it. Thanks PCSD!

I have been so encouraged and supported by our county through this loss...But my neighbors let me down! I guess I should clarify that it was just 2 neighbors. But it should not have even been 2! And one of them claims to have served in the military...Yeah right!

Just a horrible ending to a horrible day!

  2. I dont have any photos, but I wanted to say, I was there, and it was very touching to see how the whole community was there supporting him. He is truly a hero and I have newfound respect for soldiers who serve our country. God Bless you and the entire family. You have a lot of strength. I wanted to ask also..what time Monday will the visitation be?? I would love to come and pay my respects.

    visitation is from 3-8 Mon.

  3. As I stood by the side of the road today with my family. tears on our cheeks as the procession passed, I realized that in a few minutes my life would return to normal and things would rock on as usual. But in one of those cars was a mother just like me who loved her son and is going to miss out on so much he had to offer because his life was cut short. Hubby has tried to convince me that the boys and men who are dying in this war are there to do their job and it is where so many of them want to be...serving their country. But as a mom, I don't buy it. My heart is broken for this mother and her entire family, their lives will never, ever be the same.

My one hope is, is that with young, brave men like Ryan who have sacrificed everything in service to all of us who aren't in the military, that one day very soon this will be over and my 1st grader and new grandson will never have to make the choice so many of our young men have made to help keep us all safe and sound here in the good ole' USA.

Thank you, Spec. Ryan King for serving your country and I hope that our loss will not have been in vain. RIP young man.

AMEN! Thank you so much for this post. My sister has lost her oldest son and her friend. I can not tell you how devastated this entire family is. We have lost a piece to our puzzle. He was such an incredible young man, so full of life and love..God I miss him so much. But he is home now! As we came into Paulding today the tears were flowing, mostly in sadness for our Ryan but also the way the community came out in his honor! It was incredible! The relatives from out of town/state were in awe of how PC came out in support of our Hero. Ryan will always be in our hearts!

Thank you to EVERYONE for their support during this time. This must be the best county to live in in the world!

    Love,

    Ryan's Aunt Sandy

  7. I am Ryan's aunt and would like to say thank you on behalf of our whole family. It is a very hard time for all of us. No arrangements have been made as of yet. We are aware that it was on the news and has been released to the press, but we still ask for our private time to grieve. We would love to have the whole town to show their support for our HERO when he returns home. We love him and miss him terribly. The arrangements will be made public as soon as we have them made. Thank you for your prayers and concerns.
