My husband and I have been looking for a church to attend. We have been to a couple different ones. We are really looking for one that my kids can enjoy. The church I went to when I was growing up had alot of activities for me. I want my kids to go to a church that also has a lot of activities for them. We did attend a church this morning that seemed to have alot of things going on. I was really impressed. My kids are 6, 12 and 14. I live of of Ridge road and would like to find a church near my house. Any help would be greatly appreciated.come visit us at Pumpkinvine Baptist it is 2 miles from 278 west of dallas on hwy 120. we are a bible believing,soul winning church and we have a puppett ministry in our youth ministry that is excellent as well as a youth choir and even a special group of young people who sing called Exhalted. we have childrens ministry and pre school as well. services start at 9:45 every sunday am. our pastor is Thomas Cole (10years) and his wife Cathy (who leads our womens ministry. call the church for more info @770-445-1601.

Jeff Miller finally filed his campaign discloser papers today. i guess he was ashaned of the people who donated to his campaign. i wonder what the state ethics board will do to him. the state ethics board disqualified a man in Ala. for not filing his and took his name off the ballot.

Actually Larry Hart is running against Hal Echols...Larry is a long time citizen of Paulding and has been in business here for over 30 years....a family man who will look out for the good of the people.
and don powell has never had anyones driveway paved.

as of 7/12 jeff miller had not filed his campaign disclosure papers as is the law for all the other candidates.

The fire tax could only be used for the fire dept, and then mailnly to provide the much needed staffing . The SPLOST money can only be used for equipment and not for salaries. Cobb County has had it for nearly 40 years, as well as several other depts in the metro area. It helps to have excellent equipment, however if you don't have personnel fires don't get put out and emergencies are harder to deal with. Paulding firefighters do a SUPERB job, especially with the staffing they have. Now it's time for the citizens to step up and say "YES" to the fire tax. I have lived in Paulding County for nearly 40 years, and I can't count the number of times I have heard people ask "when will be get a full time fire department?" Well, it takes money! I have volunteered with the city of Dallas and I know it takes a lot of dedication to do the job for no money. It is hard to get someone to volunteer to do a job that someone next to them on a hoseline is getting paid to do. Paulding County is too big to expect people to do it for free ! Our fire dept has come a long way since becoming a "paid" dept. But it's time to pay for the protection we need, and the best way for that is through a dedicated fire tax. My hat is off to the commissioners for having the insight to ask for it. It's never a popular stand to ask for a tax hike of any sort. But with this tax you don't have to wonder where it will go. We owe it to ourselves, our children, and the future residents to bring firefighting into the 21st century. I'm speaking from experience when I say that even with the best equipment and adequate staffing that sometimes emergencies end in tragedy, however at the end of a shift if I can say we did all we could then I feel good about the career I've dedicated myself too. This post is not about me, but, I leave my family every third day to protect people in Cobb. It is a good feeling to know now that we have a full time dept to look after my family while I'm gone. I say again, we owe it to ourselves, our family and our Firefighters to vote yes to the fire tax, please.
thank you and every fireman/emt/paramedic for the great job you do. you are 100% correct . we lost our home and everything we owned in 1993 to a house fire. the trucks were driven here but there were not enough volunteer firemen that could get here that morning.

I'LL BE VOTING FOR MR POWELL ALSO. I HAD NOT DECIDED UNTIL I READ WHAT ANIMAL HAD WRITTEN ABOUT MR POWELL. IF ANIMAL IS AGAINST HIM, THEN MR POWELL WILL GET MY VOTE. FROM EVERYTHING I'VE FOUND OUT AT LEAST MR POWELL TAKES A STAND FOR SOMETHING. thank you. you will not be sorry for voting for him.

The rules that the present Board of Commissioners have adopted, need to be changed, to allow Citizens who desire to address their commissioners on issues that arise during the Regular Board Meeting.
For instance if a issue arises over imminent Domain why should we have to place our name on a list to address them at the next meeting. a month later, seems it would be proper to address them at the meeting that it is being discussed, and before they pass it ??
i agree. anyone wishing to speak should be allowed to do so.

My family and I ( there is 5 of us total) are looking for a vacation site on the Gulf side of Fla. I know this is the 11th hour -that seems to be the way we work best. We are looking for a small house or condo-reasonable priced kinda secluded-just the white sands and the beach. We can even go in the middle of the week- we are flexible. Someone mentioned St. George's Island- but, I don't anything about that area. So if you have any connections or suggestions I would love to hear from you.
CHECK OUT GRAYTON BEACH STATE PARK. JUST GO TO THE FLORIDA STATE PARK SITE. IT IS A GREAT PLACE WITH ONLY THE BEACH AND BIKE RIDING. WE LOVED IT WITH OUR GRANDCHILDREN.

I heard the lady who owned it has cancer. She closed it b/c she couldn't run it anymore, I think.
HER NAME IS JEAN AND SHE IS BATTLING CANCER . SHE HAD FINISHED CHEMO BUT THE CANCER RETURNED IN A DIFFERENT PLACE. SHE CAN'T RUN THE BUSINESS NOW. HER FAMILY NEEDS OUR PRAYERS AS WELL AS JEAN.

And this is fact the man has pulled more faul play than you can imagine.So if your a close friend or realitive just ask him where he last paved a road at????then ask him what his relationship was???then you ask yourself what's wrong then if you want to go there I will tell you more
there are no public documents to substintiate this claim because it never happened. if eddie bennett told you this he is a liar like you. i have heard that you or your wife are a relative of jerry sherin. is this true? could this be the reason you keep making up all this stuff about don?

No wonder we have such a high growth. We probably are the ONLY county in Georgia with NO impact fee.
don powell was the one who supported impact when he was elected to this office. that is why the builders and developers are putting so much money behing getting him out of office. js would not put it on the agenda .

I guess leave it to me to ask again. Where can we find un-BIASED information re: the commisioners, DA, etc. online? Can someone please help a newbie to the area? It definitely doesn't look good to be new to the area and come on here looking for information and see nothing but bashing on the upcoming election and on the growth of the county. SHAME ON YOU.

my husband is don powell and he is retired from MARTA for 4 years now and the county commissioners job is his only job. he is an active member of pumpkinvine babtist church and dearly loves his family. i have lived in paulding all of my 59 years and many generations of my family lived here as well. don is for controlled growth and he has no special interests who control him. he is very assessable to any one who wishes to call him. we own 1.5 acres and 1 home in the new ga. community. he did not have any driveways paved using county money. we are not rich in material things but are truly blessed with a wonderful family and great friends. he cannot do the job by himself. he needs someone on the board who will not be aafraid to vote no.
