HIRAM, GA 30141 770-445-7133 FAX 770-505-7273 Rakestraw Mrs. Ester Meeks Rakestraw, age 89, of Hiram, passed away on Saturday, March 24, 2007. She was born on March 31, 1917 in Paulding Co. to the late David and Lula O'Neal Meeks. She served the Paulding County School System for 30 years at the Hiram Elementary/High School on Seaboard Ave. in the cafeteria. She was a member of Flint Hill United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Herman (Bud) Rakestraw, her brothers, Ernest, Henry and Johnny Meeks and her sisters, Lois Wilbanks and Eula Mae Fednander. She is survived by her daughter, Martha Jane Rakestraw of Hiram. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 26, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. from Clark Funeral Home in Hiram, GA with Reverend Ronnie Hitt officiating. The interment will follow in Flint Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery with Wendell Eberhart, Bug Meeks, Frankie Meeks, Doug Meeks, Denny Meeks and Jeff Eberhart serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
