Roy Marvin Austin, age 68, a lifelong resident of Paulding Co., passed away on Tuesday, September 5, 2006. He was born on August 27, 1938 to the late John and Annie Austin. He was a building contractor and a member of Callie Harbin Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his son, Denny Austin.

Surviving are his wife, Audrey Austin; a son and daughter-in-law, Nick and Tammy Austin of Dallas; daughters and sons-in-law, Jennifer and Kent Jones of Collinsville, AL and Lorri and Matt Craft of Dallas; brothers and sisters-in-law, Johnny and Jean Austin of Powder Springs and Joe and Martha Ann Austin of Hiram; sisters and brothers-in-law, Bobbie and Nelson Kraeft of Tallahassee, FL and Ann and Marion Kilgore of Powder Springs; 13 grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 8, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. from Clark Funeral Home in Hiram with Reverend Charles Dyer and Mr. Kent Jones officiating. The interment will follow in Melrose Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and also on Thursday from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Clark Funeral Home in Hiram is in charge of arrangements.

Another first cousin passes. This is the third one in as many weeks. I'm spending a lot more time in Paulding County than I had planned.

 

But Roy was a good man, father, and friend. A great guy to be around. See you with the others on the far side, Cuz!
