Mrs. Mary Nell Barronton Hanson Cheney, age 76, of Douglasville, formerly of Hiram, passed away on Tuesday, July 11, 2006. She was born on December 21, 1929 in Carrollton to the late Lewis Newton and Emily Lilly Barronton. She was a member of Unity West Christ Church in Douglasville. She was preceded in death by her children, Lanora Faye Hanson, Aaron Thomas Hanson and Dorsey Newton Hanson.

Surviving are her sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Karen Hanson of Jonesboro and Eugene and Brenda Cheney of Monument, CO; her daughters and sons-in-law, Annice and Richard Murawski of Douglasville, Katherine and Timothy Preston of Douglasville, Danita Harris of Rome, Debbie and Jim Veres of Monroe, Michigan, Lora Cheney Jennings of Tecumseh, Michigan and Lisa Cheney of Rockmart; 30 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, July 23, 2006 at 4:00 p.m. from Clark Funeral Home in Hiram, GA. The family will receive friends for 1 hour prior to the service. The body was cremated. Clark Funeral Home in Hiram, GA in charge of arrangements.
