Mr. Joseph Ruben Turner, age 72, of Hiram, passed away on Sunday, June 25, 2006. He was born on June 13, 1934 in Paulding Co. to the late James W. and Cora Wilson Turner. He was retired from the United States Postal Service. He was the former postmaster of the Dobbins Air Force Base Post Office and was a past master of the Bartlett Masonic Lodge #139. Mr. Turner was also a member of the Yaarb Temple of Atlanta and was a past president and current treasurer of the Nobility Shrine Club of Paulding Co. He was a Navy veteran and was an avid stamp collector.

Surviving are his daughters and sons-in-law, Constance and Duane Johnson of Acworth, Kelley Kirk of Dallas and Christina and Andy Green of Villa Rica; a brother and sister-in-law, James Junior and Shirley Turner of Hiram; a sister, Rose Turner Driskell of Austell; grandchildren, Kinsey and Eric Green and Ian Johnson; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 27, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. from Clark Funeral Home in Hiram with Rev. Travis Warren and Rev. Bob Butler officiating. The interment will follow in Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
