Watkins

Mr. Dewey Richard Watkins, age 72, of Rockmart, passed away on Sunday, January 8, 2006. He was born on March 3, 1933 in Oneonta, Alabama to the late James Dewey and Alma Mae Watkins. He was retired from Shady Vent Aluminum Products after 40 years of service. He was preceded in death by his children, Gloria Janet Carter, Cynthia Lyn Toler and Donnie Watkins.

Surviving are his wife of 44 years, Shirley Watkins; a son and daughter-in-law, Richard Keith and Crystal Watkins of Rockmart; daughters and son-in-law, Vicki and DeWayne McCool of Brookwood, AL, Angie Eller of Dallas, Sonja Gale Prescott of Temple and Sandy Watkins; brothers and sister-in-law, Thomas Watkins of Cincinnati, Ohio and Wayne and Linda Watkins of Monroe, GA; sisters and brothers-in-law, Everine and Cherokee Stell of Conyers and Shirley and Gordon White of Athens; ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 10, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. from Clark Funeral Home in Hiram with Reverend Jerry Frye officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Clark Funeral Home in Hiram in charge of arrangements.
