Rackley

Mr. Willard Rackley, age 82, of Dallas, passed away on Friday, January 6, 2006. He was born on August 14, 1923 in Paulding County to the late W. S. and Nannie Freeman Rackley. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Mr. Rackley was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Sherry Dale Rackley.

Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Nellie B. Rackley; daughters, Kay Morris of Dallas, Teresa Laird of Hiram and Pam Newsome of Dallas; brothers and sisters-in-law, Hollis and Polly Rackley of Dallas, Marvin Rackley of Dallas and Homer and Myra Rackley of Dallas; sisters and brother-in-law, Clay Lee Rakestraw of Hiram and Sarah and Melvin Dokey of Hiram; grandchildren, Jana Chesney, Tracy Klima, Kristie Smith, Paul Laird and Ryan Newsome; great-grandchildren, Anna Laird, Jackson Klima, Ella Chesney and Talmadge Smith; numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 8, 2006 at 4:00 p.m. from Clark Funeral Home in Hiram with Reverend Lamar Rackey and Reverend Don Rackley officiating. The interment will follow in Poplar Springs Baptist Church Cemetery with Gene Rackley, Russell Rackley, Charles Rackley, Chris Rackley, Larry Rakestraw, Lee Graham and Ryan Newsome serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Clark Funeral Home in Hiram in charge of arrangements.
