Bettis

Mr. George P. “Buck� Bettis, age 74, of Powder Springs, passed away on Wednesday, December 21, 2005. He was born on October 3, 1931 in Atlanta to the late John Thomas Bettis Jr. and Florris Bettis. He was a member of the Springville Masonic Lodge #153 in Powder Springs and the Cobb Co. Memorial Club. Mr. Bettis was a past Master of Morningside Lodge #295. He was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church in Hiram.

Surviving are his wife of 41 years, Jeanette Bettis; sons and daughters-in-law, Wayne Bettis Sr. and his wife, Terry of Cartersville, Ronald and Lauren Evans of Duluth and Terrence and Crystal Evans of Norcross; a daughter and son-in-law, Sherrie and Rick Pattillo of Woodstock; a sister, Lee Forehand of Cumming; 16 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 23, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. from Clark Funeral Home in Hiram with Dr. Louie Winstead officiating. The interment will follow in Sandy Plains Baptist Church Cemetery in Marietta with full Masonic Services. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Clark Funeral Home in Hiram, GA in charge of arrangements.
