John Spencer who plays Leo McGarry on "The West Wing" died of a heart attack Friday. He was 58.

 

I hate this. I loved his character.

Ditto here, loved him on that other show too that was years ago......LA Law I think it was called.

It seems odd - on the show , if you remember, he had a heart attack and had to give up his position as the 'chief of staff' CJ took over - I know in the story line it was so he could fun, with Jimmy Smits for Vice President but it seem so prophetic, John ws in real life a recovering alcoholic - we'll all miss him - some of these good shows do start to seem like part of the family I generally disagree with the political issues they pose but the acting, staging and story lines are unusually engaging (IMHO)

Wonder if someone currently on the show will end up on the 'ticket'? Josh(?)
