Margaret L. Smith, age 86, of Dallas, GA, passed away on Tuesday, March 12, 2019. She was born on August 5, 1932, in Carrollton, GA, to the late Joe Caldwell and Sara Mooney, and was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Frank Edward “Buddy” Smith, SR. Mrs. Smith was a lifetime member of VFW-Ladies Auxiliary Post 2555. She worked as a nurse for 18 years before retiring. She assisted Dr. John Sparti, Dr. Greg Wehunt and worked at Paulding Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Smith was a member of Mt. Olivet Missionary Baptist Church.

 

Survivors include son, Frank Edward (Angela) Smith, JR of Dallas, GA; daughters, Maggie (Ronald) Malcolm of Dallas, GA, and Judy A. (Frank) Petty of Dallas, GA; grandchildren, Thomas (Tracy) Malcolm, Steven Smith, Shelli (Chad) Reiling, and Keith (Christy) Clark; six great-grandchildren.

 

Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 15, 2019, at 2 PM, from Clark Funeral Home, with Pastor Derrick Fowler and Pastor Matt Gurley officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Olivet Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. Steven Smith, Jake Malcolm, Marty Elrod, Cory Smith, Joshua Stem and Kyle Stover will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, March 14, 2019, from 5 PM until 8 PM.
