Clark Funeral Home Posted March 10, 2019 Report Share Posted March 10, 2019 (edited) Jackie Newbern, age 75, of Hiram, GA, passed away on Saturday, March 9, 2019. She was born on November 27, 1943, in Lagrange, GA, to the late Jack Berry & Essie C Griffin. She was preceded in death by her husband of more than 30 years, Myles R. Newbern. Mrs. Newbern worked at the Cobb County Solicitors Office for 25 years and was a school bus driver for 13 years with the Cobb County School System. She was also a very active member of Clarkdale Baptist Church, a loving mother and wife, who faithfully took care of her husband during his long battle with cancer. Survivors include; daughter, Renee (Dennis) Buchanan of Williamson, Ga; sons Chris Ridings of Hiram, Ga, Joe (Danita) Ridings of Pell City, AL; four step-sons, Allen Newbern, Danny Newbern, Kenneth Newbern, Randy Newbern and their spouses; grandchildren, Matthew (Emma) Buchanan of Hampton, GA, Joshua (Ashley) Buchanan of Hampton GA, Samuel Buchanan of Williamson, GA, Courtney Ridings of Powder Springs, GA, Tiffany (Dusty) Dobbins of Kennesaw GA, Taylor (Samantha) Ridings of Idaho, Mason Ridings of Powder Springs, Ga, Samantha (Dustin) Wilcox of Monticello, GA; eight great grandchildren; sisters, Peggy Morris, Becky Purvis; many nieces , nephews and other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March, 11, 2019, at 2 PM, from Clark Funeral Home with Pastor Billy Hooper officiating. Interment will follow in Powder Springs City Cemetery with her Grandson Danny Newbern officiating. Matthew Buchanan, Joshua Buchanan, Samuel Buchanan, Courtney Ridings, Tiffany Dobbins, and Mason Ridings will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, March 10, 2019, from 5 PM until 8 PM. Clark Funeral Home in Hiram, GA is in charge of arrangements.
