Clark Funeral Home Posted November 24, 2018 Report Share Posted November 24, 2018 The precious, loving mother, nanny, and great-grandmother, Jackie Shelton Brackett, age 86, of Dallas, GA. passed away peacefully at her home on November 22, 2018. She was born on January, 3, 1932 in Dallas, GA. to the late Shuford and Estoria Shelton. Mrs. Brackett was a faithful member of Mt. Zion Methodist Church. She married the love of her life, Floyd H. Brackett on May 1, 1948. The couple settled in the New Hope community and raised their three children, Gail, Daniel and Randall. After the death of her beloved husband in 1972, Jackie provided a loving daycare for many of the nurses at Paulding Memorial Hospital. Jackie will be remembered for her feisty attitude and her strong faith in her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Jackie was preceded in death by her parents, Shuford and Estoria Shelton, her loving husband, Floyd Brackett, and her siblings, Francis, Ernestine, Glenda, and Harold. She leaves behind her daughter, Gail Tomberlin, son and daughter- in- law, Daniel and Vickie Brackett, son, Randall Brackett, Brother, Larry Shelton, grandchildren; Julie and David Sockwell, Jill and Todd Roberson, Trisha and Dustin Edelem, Clay and Tracey Brackett, Marcy Brackett, Brandon Brackett, Jared Brackett, Jordan and Devyn Brackett, as well as her 11 great-grandchildren. Many nieces and nephews are survived by her, as well as her two beloved friends, Laverne Estep and Genelle Smith and her special niece, Janice Hite. Graveside services for Mrs. Brackett will be held on Sunday, November 25, 2018 at 2:00 PM from Mt. Zion Methodist Church Cemetery with Dr. Johnny Turner officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be the following gentlemen; Randall Brackett, Jordan Brackett, Jared Brackett, Brandon Brackett, Clay Brackett and Caine Brackett. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, November 24, 2018 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
