Clark Funeral Home Posted November 10, 2018 Report Share Posted November 10, 2018 James “Jimbo” David Gravely, age 58, of Powder Springs, GA. passed away on November 8, 2018. He was born on June 4, 1960 in South Laguna Beach, CA. to James and Barbara Gravely. Mr. Gravely worked as a Lead Cutter for National Envelope for 25 years. He loved NASCAR, especially The Earnhardts. He also greatly enjoyed watching old Western movies and recently became an Atlanta Braves fan. Most importantly he was a loving husband and father. He was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Jean Gravely and his step-mother, Brenda Gravely. Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Maureen Gravely, of Powder Springs, GA., father, James Wilson Gravely of Smyrna, GA., sons; David Gravely of Powder Springs, GA., Doug Davis of Austell, GA., sister, Chrislyn Gravely of Smyrna, GA., and his best friend, Bobby Rogers of Hiram, GA. Several nieces and nephews are also survived by him. A memorial service for Mr. Gravely will be held on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at 4:00 PM from the Clark Funeral Home Chapel with Richard Wilkins officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 from 2:00 PM until the service begins at 4:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully asks that donations be made in James honor to McGarity Elementary School for the “Heart and Sole Run” to raise funds for new playground equipment.
