Clark Funeral Home Posted February 21, 2017 Report Share Posted February 21, 2017 (edited) Ernest Gober, age 85, of Rockmart, GA, passed away on Tuesday, February 21, 2017. He was born on December 19, 1931, in Hiram, GA, to the late Robert and Cleo Gober, and was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Gober, and son, George Edward Gober. Mr. Gober was a United States Army Veteran serving in the Korean War, retired from Simmons Mattress Company with 47 years of service, and was a member of White Oak Springs Baptist Church since 1950. Survivors include, children, Steve & Julia Louisa Gober of Dallas, GA, and Lynn & Keith Lee of Stone Mountain, GA; brother, Doug & Margaret Gober of Hiram, GA; sister, Judy & Paul Clark of Georgetown, TX; grandchildren, Shaie & Brant Cunningham, Landon Gober, and Dalen Gober; great-grandchildren, Rylie Jackson, Camdin Leigh Cunningham, and Raegin Cunningham; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 24, 2017, at 2 PM, from White Oak Springs Baptist Church, with Pastor Keith Lee and Pastor Harvey Ware officiating. Interment will follow in White Oak Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. John Gober, Carlos Gober, Dwayne Clark, Denny Mauldin, David McKenzie and Tory Sparks will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, February 23, 2017, from 5 PM until 8 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to White Oak Springs Baptist Church, 139 White Oak Church Road, Dallas, GA 30157, in Mr. Gober’s memory.
