Clark Funeral Home Posted February 21, 2017 Report Share Posted February 21, 2017 (edited) Alexander “Al” S. Platt, age 77, of Hiram, GA, passed away on Saturday, February 18, 2017. He was born on November 27, 1939, in Manhattan, NY, to the late Samuel & Anine Platt. Mr. Platt was a United States Army Veteran and a member of the sons of union veterans of the civil war camp name – Kennesaw Mountain #3. He retired as a police officer from Jackson Township in New Jersey after 28 years of service and was currently working at Alorica. Survivors include his wife, Nancy Platt, of Hiram, GA; children, Dan & Paula Platt of Woodland Hills, CA, Charlotte & Curtis Lawrence of Merritt Island, Fl, and Michael & Kerri Platt of Lacey Township, NJ; stepchildren, Tim Timmerman of Naples, FL, Kim Wade of Toccoa, GA, Todd Timmerman of Naples, FL, Ned Timmerman of Port Charlotte, FL, David Fenimore of Georgia, and Nancy & David Edwards of Marietta, GA; sister, Mary Werlick of Lakewood, NJ; eleven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 24, 2017, at 11 AM, from Clark Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, February 23, 2017, from 3 PM until 5 PM and 6 PM until 8 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War, please make checks payable to Department of GA/SC, SUVCW, and mail to Deputy Chief David Beam, Marietta Police Department, 240 Lemon Street, Marietta, GA 30060.
